Denise asked me to put the Schedule up,
They have tried to keep the Main Event affordable for the regular customers, while keeping the registration low... Also they wanted to keep the format of the games the same, ie End of Month tournament and the Scalps game.

Any feedback would be welcome and I will pass same onto Denise. Blind levels as far as I know will be the standard ones, but I can get a list of Denise over the next few weeks.........

I think it looks good overall and hopefully it will attract the numbers. The fitz will more than likely start running Satellites for the main event on Sunday nights closer to the event,

The fitz biggest Shill signing off - smurph

Any plans for online sats for the main event, maybe even the omaha?

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,864 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Last time I was talking to Denise she said it was going to be a 20k stack in the ME for this, so I suggested 45 min levels for the first 8 or so, then going to 60 mins, but with 15k I think 60 mins all the way is better. I'll say it to her next time I talk to her I guess.

Satellites will be available for the Main event on PPP.

How would people feel about a package deal? Say 1 online satellite from which the winner will get entry to both the 270 EOM and the 540 festival game? If I thought this would be popular then I would run them - would prolly be a $1150 package or something and I might run it as a $50 rebuy game? thoughts?

    Sounds good Noel.

This looks like a great line up - the boring stuff - All 7 events will qualify for irish poker ranking points. I look forward to playing in a couple of these.

Disappoint to see these two events clash again, but I can't reallys see what option the Fitz as, as they want to include there eom game.

I'm disappoint to see the buy-in drop to 500 but this will hopefully help in creating big numbers. But if the event is meant to be your main festival of the year or one of them, than you really should give it the structure it deserves and a hour clock is a must here. I know the Fitz are excellant at including all the levels, but 45 min clock just makes a mess of levels when antes come in.

I'm sure I'll be playing this event whatever happens as I would included the Fitz as my home casino (play there at least 5 times a year). I also love the Cork festival but the add costs of hotels etc make the Fitz a better event for the average Dub.

EOM game could for example be played very early the following month. I'd agree about a 60 min clock for the main event.

Why would any Dublin player travel to Cork when there is an equally good tournament on their own doorstep.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,864 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

I mentioned to Dave in there last night about the clock, and he was inclined to agree with me, so hopefully we might see some word soon about a change there to a 60 mins clock.

Ollie, I think the reason it is being piched at the 540 level is to make it available to as many of the regulars as possible, as they are what this festival is pitched at really, so hopefuly piched at this level they can attract around 100 players, and with an hour clock it should make for a really good game. I would also like to suggest an earlier start time for the second day of this to make sure the Sunday night isn't a ridiculous finish time (3 or 4pm would be more appropriate than 6pm).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,502 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Yeah, I think that if you look at what is currently on offer structure wise around the country for the buyin level, an hour clock would be appropriate.

    HOWEVER

The concern of the Fitz in this regard should be for what its regular customers would like, and what they will be most likely to show up for. I wouldn't be surprised if some of their regulars were against an hour clock because it 'goes on too long'. And if that is the case then fair enough. They should be catering for such customers before they think about what fair weather punters like Ollie and myself would prefer.

As far as the clash is concerned, I feel it is much less of an issue given the reduction of the buyin levels in the Fitz. Yes, some players would like to play both. But in the main, they will be catering to different markets.

("Correction made with thanks to mick." - The link provided in a providing post was incorrect)

May I suggest that either hendonmob.com or Irishpokerrankings.com (for domestic Irish Ranking games) Would be more use for looking and seeing when other clubs have events on.

I understand that that this event has been running for years, can you send me some details on this years so i can add it to the IPR list (free of course). As long as the festival has one €200 event then it should be listed. Ideally then there should not be two big festivals on at the same time.

Full list of Irish Domestic Ranking events can be found at http://www.irishpokerrankings.com/index.php?option=com_tracks&view=project&p=1&Itemid=18

Poker Europa gone bust?? This is certainly news to me big iain. Maybe you should click on the link below and check your facts before making such a statement.

    http://www.pokereuropaonline.com/

By the way mods, what happened to the posts here discussing the clash with the Macau festival, which I contributed to. Is there some form of censorship going on here??

they had 50 odd last year and I think that was a 1500 buy-in, I would expect nearly 100 this time with so many sats and tickets given out and the buy-in coming massively down with a 1 hr clock etc.

The End of Month tournament will have a 10k starting stack.

Satellites for the main event will be on Sundays 8th , 15th and 22nd of November. There will then be the a sat on Wednesday the 25th.

Structure for the satellites is as follows:

    Buy-in €50 + €5 Reg.
    Unlimited Re-buy €50.
    Start Time 8:30pm.
    Starting stack: $3000;
    Re-buy $3000;
    Top-up $4000
    20 minute clock

That's great - look forward to the 10k. How come the average stack or amount of runners wasn't up on the screens until the break at Octobers eom? PS: It really is the best one day tourney around with plenty of play in it.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,864 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

I'd say the number of runners/avg stack wasn't shown until the break as late entries are accepted for the first few levels (blinded off appropriately), so it wasn't until after entries closed that the number of runners was entered.

with plenty of play in it.

    Hi Folks,

You'll see from Noel's thread in this forum that Paddy Power are running online satellites for both the main event and the EOM. We are happy to remind you about our own live satellites starting from this Sunday.

The satellites will run every sunday from this sunday (8th of November) until the festival, so the 8th, 15th, 22nd. There is also the live satellite on Wednesday the 25th.

The cost of entry is 50 euro, with rebuys available at 50 for the first hour, the same as the info posted for the sat on wednesday in Smurph's post above.

Some of you may be interested to know that I'm back working in the Fitz, and I will be the tournament director for the Main Event and the EOM, so I'm looking forward to seeing many of you there.

I would be very interested in playing a one table sattelite on the day of the main event. Maybe such sattelites could take place from 3pm onwards? Perhaps 9 players, 60 euro + 5 euro? 60x9 = 540 = 1 ticket.

Is there a possibility that such sattelites might take place and if so could advance notice be posted on this thread?

    Thanks,
    John.

You should be able to pay on the day. If you want to be safe though you can book your place in advance and paying on the day of the EOM or any other day you are in the club will be fine.

Is there any way you would think about running a satty with the winning packages being 1 ticket for the EOM & the Main Event like Paddy power have done online ?

I think something like this would generate a lot of interest.

    BUMP.

This kicks off tomorrow with the EOM tournament. 130 players and 12000 for first last time round, I'm expecting huge numbers again this thursday.

As always there will be single table satellites from 5 for the EOM, and on saturday we will be open right through from Friday night so satellites will spring up whenever people want to play them.

Another 10 tickets given out tonight in the satellite, I'll be back with a better idea of registered numbers as soon as I get a chance.
