Looking for advice for the best paint and where to get for priming bare metal that will be used near salt water.

Two k Merigh zink based primer used to be available but was banned because of toxic chemicals used. Is there anything else available?

Get it Galvanized if you can, take it to a works where you can get it zinc dipped it is the only way to coat all the welds, angle and box iron that needs protecting. If this is a bit beyond your budget then I would suggest a two part epoxy based primer and paint, anything less in a marine environment would be a waste of time. Epoxy paint is not cheap, can only protect the surfaces you have access to and may need re-coating every couple of seasons.
