I'm heading to the Edinburgh gig but since the cities are close together perhaps we could use the thread for both gigs, to discuss all aspects of Faith No More, see who has tickets and what you hope the band will perform?

Also, a few questions come to mind....

    1. Any idea on support acts?
    2. Why so few tourdates and in such "random" places?
    3. Is it going to be the same even without "Big Jim" Martin
    4. What do people think on the prospect of further touring, a more extensive European trek, a new recording and possibly even a new album? (Surely we want that more then a new Limp Bizkit album)

It wont be the same without jim but hell its as close as anyones gonna get these days, plus i was a fan of there later albums so it doesnt bother me too much. Id kill for more touring as i missed out on tickets and im going up the wall....for all you people seeing them though itl actually be unreal in such a tiny venue.

Good idea Motley, we have 2 spare tickets for the Edinburgh gig if you know anyone that wants some?

I really hope they're gonna work on a new album, that would be amazing!

The set list they played at Download was pretty wicked so something similar to that would do nicely.

I'll ask around, what price were you thinking of letting them go for, send me a PM?

i saw them in berlin a few weeks ago...amazing night!

zu supported. Theyre on mike's 'ipecac' label. they wouldnt be everyone's cup of tea but i really enjoyed them. if it's not them this time round i would imagine it will be another band from his roster.

i cant fault the gig/showmanship/sound at all. it was one of the best sounding gigs ive been to, and it was an outdoors show!

seeing them in the olympia is going to be an amazing experience!

    threeeeee weeeeeksss... :D
gonna be an amazing gig. Hope they play edge of the world or a small victory.. tho they seem to be sticking to the same kinda setlist..

    1. prob what V*S said...
    2. I think its cos the band are playing where they want to rather than, managment, agents or the like making them do it.
    3. hmmmm while i love martin era FNM, john hudson is doing a fine job, he's no trey though!
    4. I suspect there'll be some US dates in 2010. it started as a euro only reunion, then rest of world....i think they're taking baby steps, and are now happy with the tour/response. olympia sold out in 10 mins with zero advertisment?? you cant buy that kinda devotion...i'd be very surprised by an album, esp if patton has anything to do with it, i think they need him more than he needs them.

Just under two weeks to go, getting excited already.

I always loved I Started a Joke, Bee Gees version (no sniggering please), it was one of my Ma and Da's "songs". Pattons voice just blows me away in the cover. It gets full approval from Ma and Da too:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,706 ✭✭✭120_Minutes

Has there been any sign of "a small victory" or "falling to pieces" yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭DeadSkin

Just under a couple of weeks to go, really lookin' forward to this.
Not too bothered about the set list, but if they play As the Worm Turns, I'll be a happy camper :)

    :P

excellent concert, in fact i think the band themselves were a bit caught off guard by us singing back the midlife crisis chorus (including some people doing the backing vocs so it sounded perfect) to them....and they played RV! was not expecting that.....

    Fantastic Gig,
    Hungover and hoarse today.
Have to say I was disappointed with Just a Man tho, my fave FNM song but it didnt cut the mustard for me live.

Met the band after the gig in Edinburgh

Had a 'Small Victory' LP with me that was Yellow Vinyl so I got the entire band to sign it and got pictures with them all. Edinburgh was amazing, but ****ing hot, and it was like the band were playing in a small workmens club! Brilliant gig though and certainly the best of the year, perhaps the decade, so far!
