Getting tickets for the Autmn Internationals

I'm hoping to get 2 tickets (anywhere) to the autmun internationals, any 2 out of Aus/SA/Fiji or even 1 would be brilliant. I am wondering if the tickets made available through the ireland supporters club are a worthwhile number or are there other avenues I can go down to try and get tickets?

If you become an associate member with an AIL club you should be in with a shout. Myself and my mate split a membership fee of €60, bought 2 season tickets to all of Munsters home games in the Magners and HC, so we'll get first option for the internationals. There is an autumn lotto we need to enter too but i'll get over that if I seal tickets to these games.

At 50 quid, the IRFU supporters club is good value - my brothers been one for the last few years, and i've signed up this year. Thanks to that we've had a decent number of tickets for the AI's and the 6N's. (also, got my pack recently, I quite like the flag, beanies good too.)

The Supporters Club is great...very good value for 50 quid! Been a member now for almost 3 years and I have got tickets for almost every home game!

Cool, might sign up so, will leave it until a few days before the 20th when the tickets are made available for supporters club members and see if they change the supplied kit to the new puma branded stuff!

What's the o2 voucher that you get?

I'd be wary of waiting til a few days before the tickets go on sale to get your supporter's club membership.

I hear tale (think it was here) that they don't allow people who've just joined to buy tickets for the AIs/6N games. If that's true, you might be too late already.

    No, its not true.

We close the ability to register for a membership subscription midnight before a ticket sale. Registrations are then re-opened soon after (possibly later the day of the sale or the next morning).

as Justin says its not the case....although not everyone is happy with that!!

some members would like to see this restricted...i.e. noone who joins after them should be allowed to get tickets....ever...:pac::pac:

Only fair that IRFU members should have access to tickets as too many from corporate sector get tickets and don't know much about the various sports involved. Even more annoying to see it in the GAA. Sorry for the rant!

Sounds like its first come first served at 11am on the 20th.

Justin, do you know how many members are in the supporters club and how many tickets the supporters club receive from the IRFU. I suppose what I'm getting at is that if theres unlimited membership then it must be getting harder to get a ticket.

Just wondering as well, is the sale only for stand tickets? if so, when will hill packages be available?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 554 ✭✭✭buzz55

I was just going to start a new thread with exactly the same question before I spotted this.

Couple of questions please if I may?

    1. I am a connacht season ticket holder - does this entitle me to any advantage for buying either tickets for the Autumn Internationals or the six nations games?

    2. If it doesn't, am I too late today (less than 48 hours before tickets go on sale) to sign up for the Irish Rugby Supporters club and have a chance to get tickets for the Autumn Internationals? i.e. I was going to sign both myself and partner up, €100 - will I receive my log in details immediately or am I wasting my time?

    3. If I am too late, or if the number of tickets may not give me much chance of actually buying a ticket from that source, what are my options? I.e. how does one go about joining a club in order to have a shot for a ticket? I dont play rugby, but am an avid fan.

    Thanks in advance!

    1. can't help there

    2. as I understand it you can still join to take part in the sale, Justin mentioned above a cut off the day before. you can log in pretty much straight away. Contact them to be sure

1 membership would be enough as you can buy two packages per member

    3. there seems to be a good supply of tickets, as its croker and members usually get tickets. premium tickets will be sold later on, probably restricted to members who did not get tickets in the first sale.

so all-in-all a good chance of getting a ticket.

you can join rugby club as a non-playing or pavillion member and they usually have draws for tickets, as games are not on until November, you should be in time, contact clubs

Thanks a million for the reply, big help.

one more question - apart from 40 euro, what's the main difference between the standard package & the premium package for the AI's?

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

Croker has a premium level ( and a corporate box level) in between the upper and lower parts of the regular stands.

it has its own entrance level, bars, shops etc, even regular toilets!!

the seats are in smaller areas and it is generally more comfortable/less crowded.

    thats what you pay for

There won't be any hill tickets in the sale. This was mentioned in the original announcement to members.

Aye I was just a bit lost as to how/when they will be on sale in the future, or what the situation is. Hence my confusion.

Sat in the premium area for the French match this year and I have to say I wouldn't be rushing back. The atmosphere was poor and you felt a long way from the action (more so than when you are in the upper stands) and the bars were as crowded as all the others, which I thought was what you were really paying for.

All just my opinion and I'm sure some prefer it but wouldn't be my cup of tea.

Anyone know how many tickets each member can buy tomorrow? I'm looking for four and I wanted to see if there was a restriction. Also will it be a mad rush to get online at 11 or will I be ok for a few hours?

    Thanks

There is a restriction of 2 packages per member i think.

    Yes, thats correct.
Two packages per member. A package consists of 1 ticket to the Wallabies game and 1 to the Boks game.
And before anyone asks, if you buy two packages, the seats will be allocated beside each other at both games.

I've not renewed my memership, although I've got tickets for previous AI and 6N games, I've found the price of the tickets to be just a bit too much.

They're not too bad this year, €140 for a stand package, €70 per game. I havent been up this early in a long time (work nights) :o

Just picked up my 2 packages there, not a bother. Lower Hogan stand.

Just got my tickets. I had 2 cusack lower packages but when i went to pay for them all of a sudden i was told there was none left , so i managed 2 cusack upper. Also it appears that they have already sold out. Hard luck to anyone who missed out.

    nah still available tickets

I noticed a low enough number of people online just before the sale, no real panic today

a sign of the times perhaps

Any idea what sections of the stand are usually held for the supporters club tickets? Are we gonna be tucked away in the corner?

We had over 1000 people trying to log in to the forum at 11.00 so its still as busy as ever.

in fairness Justin i would have thought that 1,000 people is quite low compared to the competition for tickets in recent years (of course, not being given any inof on numbers does not help:pac:)

I would hope that the club manages to get more than 2,000 tickets to an A.I. match in a ground the size of Croker? but maybe not

In any event I was able to buy my tickets with only one minor hiccup when I went to pay i got a blank screen but a refresh brought me to the pay screen

I was then able to go back and buy tickets on behalf of a friend who is away without any problems....in previous sales the tickets would have disappeared in minutes

I was talking about the members forum. Previously the record was 1100.
Ticket sales have gone very smoothly and as planned today.

Got 2 upper Cusack tickets eventually. :D:D

Was timed out twice.

Put in a queue once & told to refresh. Gave up after 5 mins.

Retried & got the 2 upper Cusack ticket package.:D :D:D

Better than last time but a lot more needs to be done to improve the
process - They could hand it over to ticket master who have the necessary infrastructure in place.

as a newish member would be nice to know where abouts the tickets are as well, are they in corners/ at the backs of the stands etc ?

Didnt have any real problems though. I tried lower hogan at about 11.00/ 11.05 but when tried to proceed to pay, it said there were none left - same happened with lower lower cusack. I did get tix for upper hogan though - phew! - and just glad to get hands on the tickets.

I have gotten tickets previously for

Lower cusack - fine, good view

Lower Davin - alright but too close to pitch for good view and not sheltered

    Upper hogan - good view

    Premium level - good view

You can hire-in a number of servers for a few days

I really hope the supporters club tickets are not tucked away in the corner. Having paid to be a member, and paid full whack for the tickets, it'd be decent of the IRFU to at least put us all somewhere we can see the match.

I was plonked up against the wall in the corner for the NZ match and a load of the supporters club people near me walked out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 182 ✭✭Dools2007

    Hi,

I have got tickets in two sales before through the Supporters Club and both times have found the tickets to be in good locations.

First time, the tickets were in the lower Hogan and we were on about the 22 yard line or just outside it.
Last time, lower Cusack and was just inside halfway.
Both times excellent views. In fairness, in Croker, you have a pretty good view from most seats anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,562 ✭✭✭connundrum

Just got 2 x Upper Cusak tix, raging that I couldn't get any lower levels.

Was in a meeting at 11am about budget restructuring and lowering costs... all the while I was dying to get out and spend €140 on two games!!

The cost per game is really out of kilter with reality, and I know that some will say that I'm the eejit for paying it, but I am a rugby supporter and enjoy live games so..

    Meh, delighted anyway.
