Not sure if this has been suggested already so.. How about when you are logged in you get to see a differentiation between threads that contain a post that you have made and those that you have not?

The thread title in the 'Latest Forum Posts' could have a little image of an arrow like this image that is shown in a forums post list thread_dot_new.gif maybe?

And next to the forum name a little image could be shown if you are subscribed to the forum, or not.

And probably could be quite annoying, but the latest poster could have an image showing if he is a friend of yours, or not.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
