    info required about kayaking in co louth from rivers to lakes to carlingford, annagassan, river fane, river glyde. any tips hints ideas meetings ect thanks

    hi there it all depends on your experance on kayaking. the best thing to do is go to the great outdoors in dundalk and they will give you info about dundalk kayak club. they regularly go co clogherhead peer and do shore tris. and also they run the boyne roughly every week.
    the fane is to dangerous at the port i dnt no what its like up stream.
    i just ran the glyde that is a slow running river and there is a good few areas where it is advisable to swimbecause it is over growen but hopefully over the next while im thinking of cutting it back to make it more accesable.
    i have ran the boyne and it is alot more difficult if you want more info on the boyne go to irishwhitewater.com.
    how long are you kayaking and i hope this info is usefull to you

    i am brand new to kayaking, and i should have said that it is an open kayak i have. I have been up the glyde this morning or at least a short part of it and i was out in carlingford lough yesterday. I am really interested in seeing some wildlife from the water and the kayak is just a means to an end, but it is great crack and i think it has the potential to open up a complete new world to me. I will look out for the great outdoors in dundalk and see what they have to say. thanks again
