    As we know, Apple changed how they charge the Iphone from Firewire to USB

    This is why the devices we have such as the ipod fm transmitter can still be used to play music but not charge the phone.

    It converts current plug in device from using the firewire connections to using the usb connections thus allowing the iphone to be charged.
