    Thinking of joining this club for Tennis and pool. Is anyone here a member of this club and what is it like ?

    Specifically what fee per month are you paying and did you pay a joining fee ?

    Thanks in advance

    I'd hazard a guess at over the 1000 mark.
    But as I said, a guess.

    I got some current membership rates :

    Adult (Full) : 116 per month
    Adult (health + fitness) : 95 per month

    Anyone else paying less than this for David Lloyd ?

    Any tips for negotiating the fee ?

    seriously what the hell do you get that makes it worth €1920

    Didn't say we represented them :p

    In comparison to Carlilse and other gyms, they are grossly overpriced. But there isn't a comparison. Theres a different market, who want kids summer camps, a cinema, wi-fi and a dedicated pilates room. They have indoor and outdoor tennis courts and astro turf which is lacking from several gyms.

    Mind you... €225.00 in Ben Dunne's gyms makes a lot more sense!

    Very expensive, I wouldn't bother myself, but then I'm not in their demographic I suppose, but neither are most people these days.

    Glazers Out!

    It's €199 for a year in Carlisle now. Or just under €170 for a year if two join at the same time

    @djk1000
    The offer for €199 has ended afaik. It's now 225e for 14 months (which is cheaper). The two person offer is €360 afaik.

    @nullzero
    Neither am I, I use the Carlisle. Most of the people I know in David Lloyd's are ABC1's (the professional wealthy class to be blunt)

    They are increasing fees in January too. Seemingly they are losing an awful lot of members.

    IIRC in Riverview/DL one must spend a certain amount in the club per year as well.

    I think the key word here is club - it is more of a social/status place than merely a dedicated gym.

    I did know a few Ballsbridge Motors salesmen joined the place purely to flog cars to the members and it was worth their while for most of the mid 90's to mid 00's.!

    Does anyone know the current fees in DL/Riverview? Are there still those crazy "joining fees"??

    Thanks!

    I'm paying Eur92.50 pm for off peak. Have handed in my notice to leave as this is too expensive. I have ben told that J Skellys in Ballsbridge are giving a coeporate membership fro Eur 47 pm with no joining fee. No brainer!

    A CINEMA.. lol...that's definitely worth 150 a month then..... I once had a look around there years ago the gym itself is good (but not amazing) but the athmosphere is repulsive. The carpark looked like an SUV showroom and inside it's all celtic tiger trash in over-the-top fashion victim gear and expensive hairdoes.. everyone looked a cast member for some D4 parody show
