    Few observations:
    • Massive crapshoot and nothing interesting really comes up - To be expected I suppose but still a little disappointing given the lineup
    • Raymers 'stare down' is disturbing
    • Raymer still thinks the Soviet Union is in existance!
    • LOL at ESPN introducing the hidden cards feature - i.e Sweat with xxx that the EPT has had for years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,267 ✭✭✭opr

I also expected more of the 40k event in terms of play, it seemed like a complete crapshoot. I had forgotten how much other rubbish ESPN surrounds showing these final tables.

what's the story with crapshootyness!? i thought all the wsop events had monster stacks this year with bigger buyins meaning bigger stacks.

not great episode can only get better. One or two nice hands the feature quiz show thing was very annoying.

Liked Haxtons line with the Aces.

I thought it was a great second episode!

Ups and downs made for great tv for me.

I'd like to know how much that guy would of made (or has he ended up winning) on his prop bet about the braclet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,755 ✭✭✭tylerdurden94

What site did those links come from on the cousinslink?

I thought it looked pretty well, the intro part i really liked, the game show part was very cheesy got back to doing the nuts thing. Cant remember who won this so looking forward to it.

Ted Forrest line was pretty strange, Haxton's AA was nice, Raymer raising with Q5 then Bonomo reraising with the K7 was sweet then reraised with the 99's :) Your man with the "one time" crap i dont normally mind hearing that but you spiked both times of the river you absolute luckbox.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 991 ✭✭✭tm2204

Yeah, thought 2nd episode as way better.
I'd say Reymer regrets his line with that 55 hand and getting his whole 50+BB stack in. He was gummimg for the 2nd bracelet and just had a bit of a brain fart.

Thought Haxtons HU play was atrocious (what edited parts we seen).

    :D

Yeah, that fact that Lunkin was able to trap him so easily with big hands makes you think Haxton was overly aggressive in the hands we didn't see.

Spoiler because it's going to be shown during main event coverage:

    Spoiler:
Greg Mueller won the prop bet for me. I also crushed all my other prop bets (like drafting players

    Seen this on 2+2

greg raymer = nicest guy in poker

isaac haxton= most impatient/aggro heads up tourney player in the world(watch his hu in the pca a few years ago vs ryan daut its gas how aggro he plays)

Vitaly Lunkin= weird bum bag/fanny pack, made some very well timed aggro plays

Dani Stern= was made look like a tourney donk

overall: espn butchered the coverage and gave no idea of real game flow and jus showed the big pots

also: hachem sounded like a douche on the rail

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,289 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Hachem is a douche full stop, jackass of a man, awful ambassador for poker as a former world champion imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,755 ✭✭✭tylerdurden94

The chick dealing at the start of episode 1 dealt to me for a bit when i played in the Bellagio and went on this massive rant about how Harrah's was runining the WSOP.

    Jesus them swings were crazy!

Tilt inducing coverage. Far too much fluff and not enough hands. The quiz almost made me turn it off.

lol I was thinking the same thing. I can barely watch this because of him

Have to agree Hachem is a whining pain. Always moaning about luck, won the main event when his pocket sevens held up when he was low stack now thats fkn luck

    Mortensen limp calls TT.
    Doyle folds AK.
Mortensen check min raises the Tens for info ldo and then folds em.

    Top class play.

don't forget md, AK is just a drawing hand at the end of the day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

Tom M was so terrible. He reminded me off a fitz player - I have JJ "I'm all in". I have AK in a 19 bet pot "I'm all in", LOL

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Flushdraw

That really was horrible stuff to watch. I thought McEvoy was really bad, and he didnt seem to think any situation through...couldn't see further than his own 2 cards.

I know its a charity event but they are playing for serious $$$ and it looks like the biggest crapshoot ever!

Brad Garrett is a fcuking arsehole how do people find him funny? Tiffany Michele was looking pretty hot :) was it just me or did it look like it took Matt Damon forever to turn his cards over like he was slowrolling them? Ben Affleck's exit was pretty rough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 991 ✭✭✭tm2204

+1,000,000 on Brad Garrett. He's an arsehole plain & simple.

Have been hugely dissapointed with ESPN's WSOP coverage of the 2009 WSOP so far. Both last weeks (seniors) show & this weeks (charity) show were pretty poor and the €40,000 1st event wasn't that good either.

Plan now is to show a whole lot of the main event and nothing else

I will enjoy the main event for sure but question why they decided on this schedule and ignored most of the tournaments completely.

    :D

That structure looked like a joke. Am i right in thinking that by the time it got heads up the average stack was just over 1BB?
