Im starting WIT for a post grad this Sep and ive never been Waterford. But i hear lovely things about the sandy beaches and fine weather :p

I have no idea of where to stay so im just putting it out there. If ya guys wanna gimme your 2-cents about where the best place would be OR if ya know where a room is available that would be epic :pac:
    Cheers

    Rob

(im studying sports psychology so if that makes a differance eg. campus location)

i would recommend college fields on campus if you in the cork road campus under no circumsatnaes go to manor village, if you down in the other campus go to one of the flats near teso polberrry ok or riverwalk

What are College Fields like anyway?

hi. you'll be on the cork road campus. college fields is on campus. havnt heard great things about it. steer clear of ballybeg! templars hall is a housing estate full of student houses, its pretty cheap and easy to find something there. its a 5 minute walk from college. there is another housing estate behind it, i dont know what its called but its a bit quieter and rent is pretty cheap too. Lismore is behing the college but thats pretty much all digs. Clairemount is beside the college and there are a few student houses there too. thats pretty much it around the college. if your looking for somewhere closer to town (20 minute walk from college) try: manor village. Raliway square. Aylesbury Manor. The gardens. De bruin court.
thats all i can think of! hope it helps! :)

The rents are fairly cheap in Ballybeg:rolleyes:

your so lucky, Waterford is brilliant. I would suggest campus accomodation, manor village, not river walk cos that's where you'll meet the most new people. I will never forget my first few weeks here, drinking cans with strangers. You have so much to look forward to!! Enjoy! :D:D:D

oh sorry I thought you were a fresher I didn't read your post at all! DO NOT GO TO MANOR VILLAGE (unless you enjoy hanging out with drunk 17 yr olds!) My bad sorry! Yeag college fields is decent, check daft.ie, any thing on the dunmore road will be quieter if that's what you want rather than in the middle of the big student centres. Railway Square is good too and bout 15 mins walk to campus

Im in the same boat. I'll be doing 4th year down there. Thought I had accomodation but it fell through. I dont know the area at all. Where would be the best place to start looking at this stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 430 ✭✭Sparkles:)

What campus are you in do you know?! (if not what's your course?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,193 ✭✭✭pd101

I didnt even know there were different campus's :o. Its an architectural technology course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 430 ✭✭Sparkles:)

    Its ok... poor college st...

You're on the cork road campus (main campus)

Daft sharing is a handy auld number to be hones, parking in the main campus is a joke, walk or cycle to college.

templars, lismore park, brownes rd. have alot of student houses, i dont think they're exactly party central myself but 4th year is important so maybe stay away from templars

    Sparkles! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ps i cannot believe i forgot to put kisses in my last post :O

Even worse then the Dubs. Cork folk think they are the only city in Ireland :p

Dont forget folks - good few advertisements up around the college for accommodation. So pop down, take a few numbers and make a few calls!
