Got into it last year, been watching ever since.

Frankie Boyle is my favorite. He has the best and most offensive jokes. :D

Frankie is so funny! We would love to see him if he came over here!Dara is very clever as well though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

    I agree,

The only one I don't like on the panel is Andy Parsons even though he can come up with some good ones in "scenes we'd like to see" I used to not Like Russel either but his story last week about how he used to be bullied and standing up to them had me laughing for days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 281 ✭✭cowlove

Did you see the one that was on the last night and Frankies line
"If you dont think I am a nosey bastard why did you write it in your diary then!?"

    Hilarious!

I read that Frankie has written some jokes for Jimmy Carrs new show! Another legend!

Frankie steals the show each week. Legend.

Frankie is great and I love his jokes but it's very easy to get laughs with crude humour.

Some of the other panel members can have some very witty and intelligent moments (not that Frankie doesn't) but they don't get as many laughs...my guess is that if they laced their intelligent pieces with the words c0ck and cnut every so often they would probably get greater laughs...

It's a brilliant show, good format.

My favourite is Frankie obviously, what with the "queen's haunted fanny" and the vegetarian "option", but Hugh Dennis really is a smarmy git.
He pulls it off to perfection...

Dara, Frankie, Hugh, Andy and Russell

Possibly the five funniest men on TV. I know what I'll be doing this Thursday at 9 :D

You make a good point and it's something I've thought myself. Frankie is undoubtedly funny but he does love the sound of his own voice and sometimes doesn't let anyone else get a word in. He comes in to his own in the scenes we'd like to see segment.

ya scenes we'd like to see really seperates the regulars from the guests imo. I sometimes feel the stand up bits are a little to rehearsed maybe and sometimes they don't come across as good.

I've said it a few times on this fourm but if you could somehow move jimmy carr and sean lock into mock the week it'd be epic.

Off topic but did anyone see the best of 8 of of 10 cats last week?

Of all people ya man who was the final man in the apperentice gave me the biggest lol of the series, he started going on about how everyone on reality tv is a souless sellout. I was in bits so i was.

Yeah, Mock The Week is brilliant.
I agree that Sean Lock should definitely go on it some time - he'd be perfect for that kind of show!

My favourite guest/non-regular panellist is David Mitchell; he should be on it more often.

Dunno if he'd fit it. He is deadly, don't get me wrong, just not sure if one of his little stories that doesn't actually go anywhere would go down too well. :pac:

Frankie Boyle steals the show alright. He has started a podcast on iTunes recently telling the all the jokes he wrote for the show most of which never made it to air.

He gets the script two days before filming and goes off and writes a lot of material and then performs it in front of a live audience to see what works and what doesn't. Sort of quality control I guess.

    Funny man nonetheless.

mock the week is a poor version of 'have I got news for you'. Frankie is a bit funnier then the rest but that doesnt say much. Dara is a natural in the hot seat, but the program is poor overall and a sh*te title.

i love it!! Frankie Boyle is Legen.........wait for it.........dary!!!
got his dvd for xmas :D brilliant!! i love it when Adam Hills and Michael McIntyre are on it!! Its a fantastic show love it!!!!!:D:D

Frankie is my favourite on it, but does anyone else think that he goes on about how sh1te Scotland is a tad bit much?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭Eire-Dearg

It's funny he takes the piss out of his own countries.

Search YouTube for deleted bits - Frankie Boyle has no limits. He's one of my favourite comics now.

i love it when Adam Hills and Michael McIntyre are on it!

Michael McIntyre? Really? I mean...really? I've had soup that was funnier than him. Saw the episode with his first appearence last night and it was painful, ripping a coldsore with a needle dipped in vinegar would have been more entertaining.

Mark Watson is very good on MTW even though he's only been on twice, David Mitchell is excellent whenever he's on. I love the show

Yeah Frankie Boyle steals the show every week. I cannot stand Andy Parsons though I just dont find the guy funny at all. The rest are great and work really well together.

I'm another fan of Frankie, his stand-up DVD is also quality. Dara is also excellent.

I also agree that David Mitchell should be on it more.

Did anyone see Rhod Gilbert on the show a few weeks ago? Great sketch on Al-fresco dinning. Here's more of his material:

His only funny line was about him looking like pierce Brosnan with a mouth full of sweets..he really does:pac:

I actually would prefer MM to andy parsons anyday. But ya he's pretty woeful. Who was that massive fella on it a couple of weeks ago or even last week? He was fairly good.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,082 ✭✭✭lostexpectation

anybody watch spicks and specks adam hill's austalian music panel show, not very good.

Greg Davies. I think he's decent enough. I remember watching him on ITV's Take the Mike stand-up competition a good few years ago when he was only starting out. He used to do a lot of jokes about his height.

I must say I quite like Adam Hills when he's on. I watched him the other evening on the Comedy Store on Paramount and liked him. Does a bit on the Irish as well:

Who is the blonde guy who is furthest to the right of the screen? I just dont find him funny, he just seems like he's trying too hard. Just to add: Frankie Boyle is a legend. (I know pretty much everyone else has said it but he deserves the mention :D

Russell Howard, he's alright and can be funny but i'm not a fan of Andy Parsons.
i mainly only watch it for Frankie Boyle and Dara Ó Briain

Love the show, but i was getting a bit tired of Frankie Boyle this week, he seemed to be taking over the show a wee bit...Russel and Andy are'nt that funny imo, i'd like to see Sean Locke replace either one...

    It's a funny show

I can't stand the little bald English fella though

His voice is the most irritating thing ever, I'd thoroughly enjoy punching him repeatedly

    Yeah, watching it there tonight.
Only laughed at the Frankie Boyle gags though tbh.

    He's a genuinely funny man.

Sean Locke IMO is a terribly ignored and understated talent.
I'd love to see him do more stuff like this as well.

That's Stewart Francis. I think he's hilarious but he doesn't have a huge amount of jokes. If you watch his youtube videos you'll hear mostly the same jokes over and over.

He did a gig on live at the Apollo recently it was on RTE. I thought he was very funny there.

For anyone who's interested, there's a free Frankie Boyle podcast on the Interweb. It's stuff that he's trying out on a live audience before bringing it to the show. It's called Frankie Boyle: Mock The Week Musings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,070 ✭✭✭✭My name is URL

I watched the repeat last night, jesus Boyle is one controversial motherfcuker!

He must get his material on 4chan :pac:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 262 ✭✭coup1917

The show would be nowhere without Frankie alright.....He can get away with saying absolutely anything.......
Michael Mcintyre is a serious pain in the *rse..... he defo laughs at his own stuff.........He must think he's funnier than he actually is...
As for Andy Parsons, I think he's there to provide the breaks in humour between Frankie's outbursts....

I can't believe people can dislike Michael McIntyre, I think he's great!!!

I myself can't stand that little cocky turd Russell Howard. His jokes are just so immature and not witty in the slightest. He reminds me of a stupid class clown in primary school, doing idiotic voices and "random" jokes. Anyone could do what he does. Every joke begins with "could you imagine that..." or "how great would it be if...". He just screams family guy unfunniness. What annoys me most is after he's made his unfunny, "wacky" remark, his stupid cross-eyed face stares at the camera for some sort of approval.

Andy Parsons: Oh dear. The only laughs the guy gets are from doing a pitiful waddle towards the microphone. He should definitely be replaced.

David Mitchell is another good guest.

Frankie Boyle is a brilliant comedian, I love his constant cracks at Kerry Katona. Hugh and Dara are pretty solid as well.

I can't stand that Nigerian women Gina something or other. Every joke she makes is about being black, she's so unfunny.

^ lol and +1 to most of that.

Although in fairness, Russell does get better with every season.

Hubbie saw Frankie live in the UK and said he was totally hilarious!!!! He has us in stitches every week....but whats the story with the beard???? I dont like it!!!!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

Ya I think Michael McIntyre gets a bit of a hard time too, I think maybe because he is very British. I saw him live on paramount I think and I thought he was funny enough.

I'd love to see him replace andy parsons personally.

I'd actually prefer him to replace Russell. He's just not funny. Does anyone think the format this year for Wheel Of News is completely pointless?
