The OP is looking for feedback from people who have had breast implants. I fail to see the need for any men to comment on this or make assumptions about the motives of the OP.

    thanks for the replys,
nedtheshed,im sure there are some things you would change about yourself if given the chance, for me getting breast surgery is a big decision i gave a lot of thought to and did not consider and decided on it overnight.to me weather i have surgery or not doesn't mean im any more or less special and unique as before??every person on this earth is unique regardless of how they look.

    thanks a lot g'em :-)

    Hi there!

I haven't had a boob job, but I know a few people who have had work done, or considered it (and I've watched a lot of Reality TV :pac:)

Regarding size, choose something that you're comfortable with!
If you're petite and slender, you might not enjoy getting very big implants and might prefer something that's bit more in tune with your shape?

It's a personal choice, I think! Everyone's different and everyone wants something different from the surgery.

My advice is look through some magazines, try and find women with a similar shape to you and see if you'd like to have a similar bust size to them? Or even look at friends of yours, to get ideas.

I'd also suggest asking the doctor for his/her advice, to see what they'd recommend for you.

Find something you're happy with and go with that!

As for the procedure, I can't comment really as I haven't been in that position myself.
All I can advise is to make sure the medical team you're with make you as comfortable and relaxed as possible, which they will, being professionals!

    Good luck :)

Never had an augmentation, but have had a few general anaesthetics so would advise you be prepared for feeling a bit out of sorts for at least a week.

From the operations i've had the anaesthetic took a lot more out of me than I had ever expected - so make sure to consider that in addition to the healing time the docs tell you about for the actual incisions, etc.

Arrange as much time off work as possible, have the kitchen stocked up and plan to spend some quality time on your couch with some DVDs and napping! I was woozy, emotional, nauseous and v sleepy for the first 7/9 days each time. Mind, that was my experience, so it may be different for others.

I'd suggest on focusing on getting yourself in a healthy condition before the op, lots of rest, exercise, good food and no alcohol - get your body to a good place before it has to do the healing. Good luck!

Would love to follow your progress as I'm sure many women would. Perhaps start a thread diarying your daily experiences pre/during*/post op?

    good luck!

    * obviously not advisable when under anaesthesia :p

I know a girl who got it done and she found it difficult to lift her arms after the procedure so make sure you've someone there to help with bags, get you home, make dinner etc.

    hey thanks again for opinions,
i do know a lot of people who have had them done, people who had it done recently just tend to say they've never been happy and people who had them done 2-3 years ago say go as big as possible.
i have done a lot of research on the surgeon i picked,he is very well known. he does not put a implant size in he puts in an empty pocket and fills it up.takes the width of your shoulders, height curves, ect into consideration.i actually have an hour glass figure without the boobs haha
that website is brilliant thanks a lot
yes i will defo keep posting,i didn't find a lot of discussions on implants myself so hopefully i can help some others.
i guess when i wrote my post i was just getting nervous about the procedure, not doubting my decision but just thinking about it!!!

Obviously I'm a dude but know a bit about it, regarding aftercare move your bed downstairs before the op, wandering up and down stairs will cause a lot of movement and im told it hurts like fook with the bouncing. You don't realise how much stuff moves until it's sore and tender and you feel every millimeter of movement.

Get yourself in best physical condition as someone said above and have a mate or two maybe stay over? Reaching up or bending down to try get stuff from cupboards etc will be difficult so handy to have a mate around to help out.

    Good luck.

Do your research to find the right surgeon. Hint: they don't advertise in the backs of magazines.
Local surgery (Irl/UK) is more expensive than traditional holiday surgery locations (east europe/india/malaysia) - on the other hand, if your post-op recovery is less than perfect, you're an awful long way from getting any help.
Don't underestimate the post-op recovery support you'll need. Do your homework.
Do have a good think about what you want to achieve - shape / size/perkiness/nipple position/natural look/porn look? Make sure your surgeon understands. Make sure you;ve seen examples of his work that meet your expectations.
Are you prepared for regular re-makes (every 10 years or so)? Are you prepared for scarring and the risk of losing sensation?

    Hi,
Just came back from poland yesterday where i had a ba and upper eyelid surgery, both ops cost me 3100e here it would have cost 9000k. i done so much research on it for many months. I would highly reccomend surgery in poland to anyone considering it, i went on my own, for 4 days and i was so nervous. I would say it was better than any private clinic here, surgeons are just if even more qaulified than here and so down to earth, i had dinner with my surgeon night before surgery! in the hotel part of the clinic. I had submuscular round mentor moderate profile implants. if anyone wants to know clinic i went through they can pm me..

I had mine done in January, had 410cc HP unders in Prague, dont regret it for a minute. Hope you are doing well OP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39 milklady

Thats what i had 410cc supertyper :-)how much did they cost you??was it just implants you had?

    "illusion i look good"
no i do look good and i know i do regardless of weather i have big breasts or not?what exactly do you mean "of course they need to be reminded of this every time"
you have no idea why any of us have had breast augmentation so don't judge anyone.
i find it amusing you would compare a woman to a window sill?????

NO ONE ASKED FOR A SMART OPINION JUST ADVICE FROM WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN IN THE POSITION

Dankoozy there was already one warning on this thread about precisely the kind of opinions that were not sought and you chose to ignore it. Take a couple of days off. Post deleted.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Would agree with Will, a girl friend of mine got it done and she was pretty sore for a few days. Try and keep movement to a minimum. If you live alone it would prob help to have someone around for a day or 2.

While cosmetic surgery is not something I see as a choice I would personally make for myself (lets edit this a little and say at the moment... who knows how I'll feel in a few years!), I really have to respect women who do their homework and decide it's for them and just go for it.

We all spend so much time holding ourselves back from different things we want. It's great to hear you went for what you wanted OP and that the results are what you'd hoped.

    Hi Milklady

I paid 3,000 euro for mine (included 6 nights accommodation plus chaffeur to and from airport) in Prague. I only had the boob job hon. I'm really happy with them. After breastfeeding mine vanished completely. Where did you get yours done and are you happy?

  • Moderators Posts: 24,367 ✭✭✭✭ChewChew

Milklady, I work for a plastic surgeon who does breast surgery every week. Well done on getting it done. It is a HUGE procedure which can have many complications. one thing I will advise on, as it is something that would be seen regularly, is the be carefull when changing your dressings. Dont do it alone and make sure who ever helps is wearing latex gloves. oh, and dont bend down too often, and keep an eye on the nipples as you most likely will not get feeling in them too soon so just watch out for infection there.

I had a BA in January, needed a reop in May and a further reop last week. This was not due to the surgeon but due to muscle problems. Please be very careful who/where you choose. Ask them about corrections, make sure if anything goes wrong, it is all done for free. A lot of girls need revisions so aftercare is very important.

If you have any other questions, I would suggest you join http://www.lookyourbestuk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 The girls are lovely and will answer any questions you may have plus there are a few Irish girls on there who might be able to help you regarding your chosen clinic.

Best of luck with your research x

Just noticed this thread is a few years old. Anyway, Agnes (my wife) and I went to Poland last week for her boob job, lipo and tummy tuck. We used Mediconsult, a healthcare company based in a city called Szczecin in NW Poland. We had met their representative [mod snip] in Dublin some months earlier and were suitably impressed with the entire package they were offering.

She had the operations last friday night (it took 4 hours)....right now she is in some pain but that is expected to subside in time. The cost of all the operations came to 6500 Euro....a fraction of prices in Ireland.

    Hi Barrackali,

I'm considering going to Mediconsult also for a tummy tuck and some lipo. I've also been offered a great price but i'm extremely nervous about going so far away for the op. I live in Ireland and i'd be going alone.
Can i ask how you decided to go with Mediconsult? I've never met [snip], only communicated through email so far, but she's offered me dates for the surgery as soon as 2 wks away. I'm wondering if this is great or if it's a sign that business is slow?
Basically, i'm hoping you can give me some tips and info from your experience please.
    Thanks :)

    Hi Ellie07,

I wouldn't be concerned one bit about going with Mediconsult. From our experience Nina has been incredible right through the process. My wife (Agnes) had it done on the 27th of April, at every step [snip] was there to help in any way she could. The surgeon [snip] who performed her breast augmentation, tummy tuck and lipo was a berlin based plastic surgeon with decades of experience.....his work was first class.

Make sure you allow for 5 days stay there...you will need to recover somewhat for the journey home. If possible see if you can get Ryanair flights to the regional Airport....Szczecin.

You can also get flights to Berlin with Ryanair....either way you will be collected from both Airports and brought to your hotel. When we arrived in Berlin there was a girl from a Tyrone travelling to Mediconsult alone....not a bother! [snip] will help you with everything including bringing you for your initial examination and many other things. Make sure you get your prescription in Poland.....our total was something like €70 for all her meds...it would have been 4 times that in Ireland. All of the doctors we dealt with spoke English including one who spent a year working in Dublin. My wife is recovering well thank god. Any other questions...msg me.

Thanks so much for the advice :)

I'm super nervous and excited at the same time. Totally normal i assume. [snip] just emailed me saying i'd have the same surgeon as your wife had. That's good news.
Can i ask you, if you know, are family members allowed to stay in the hotel with the patient? I'm also wonder about revision surgery, if i'm unfortunate and this is required, do i have to pay for this again? I'll email [snip] of course asking her these questions too. I suppose i'm just interested to hear from another client aswell. How's your wife feeling now? Hope she's doing well and happy.
Thanks again for the advice :)

Agnes is doing well....in some pain, but nothing too serious. Already her tummy swelling has come down a great deal, I just mentioned to her this morning that she hasn't been that flat since before she had our son. These are only initial results, it will take 3/4 months for the final one. Overall we can't recommend [snip] enough, you will find she is on the ball for all your needs both pre-op and post-op. One tip...you will find that all prices are in local polish zloty...the euro is very strong against that currency...you will save a substantial amount at the current rates. I think we paid something like €6,500 for the full package...amazing price really. You will have to work out the accommodation side directly with [snip], you have a choice of staying in what is really a large luxury villa or a hotel of your choice in szczecin town centre. Any questions at all....come back to me.
