Just recently finished 1-5 on boxset, I seriously dont think we're ever going to see any better than this. Its grim at times but made me cry laughing at others.

My favourite of the above is def when Mcnulty scores a random blond in a bar and is riding her from behind on the bonnet of a car under some dingy bridge, plastered as usual.Patrol car arrive on the scene and shines the spotlight on them. McNulty stops for a second, pulls out the badge, waves it at them reflecting the light back at em, casually tosses it on the bonnet and gets back to business, all the while never having pulled out of the girl. The patrol car just drives on. Fall down on the ground funny.

Schism

First one that comes to mind is the scene in season one where they're trying to move the desk. There's a few moments in every season that are chuckle worthy.

Brother Mousone's lackey is looking for Omar in gay bars. In the second or third one we get a glimpse, for just a second, of Rawls, laughing and joking with some young guy. Subtle, fleeting, laugh out loud.

There are so many laugh out loud moments I couldn't possibly start listing them all out.

One: Chris and Snoop following up on Marlo's ultimatum to Bodie interrupted by that little fella cruising down the street in a land rover. The three just stare for a minute and then back to business. Near slap stick comedy in the Wire, who'd have thought!!!

The scene where Herc and Carver have just released Poot from a street search and as Poot walks away he hears Herc continuing an earlier conversation with Carver in which he says to Carver, '.....how about a hand job?' The look of disgust and bewilderment on Poots face is funny

The ladder scam where Bubbles grabs the bottom of the ladder
and threatens to knock it over, unless the guy throws down his
wallet and then Johnnny comes running shouting ' leave that guy
alone' and the guy on the ladder climbs down and gives Johnny
a reward.



In this scene where Nerese Campbell is persuading Clay Davis not to
implicate others. Clay gives us an extra long shieeeeeeeeeeeeet.
I reckon this was his longest in the series.

When some of the dock workers send Ziggy a letter saying he might be the father of some kid, then play some song (can't think of what the song was) repeatedly on the jukebox. The look on Nicks face when he realised whats been going on and just gives them a sly look is brilliant

I just started watching S3 again- the first 15 minutes of the first episode are priceless:
- Bodie getting all sarcastic at Poot for being sentimental about the towers being knocked (Poot saying that was where he first got laid, Bodie saying they should erect a monument, etc).
- The drug meeting with Stringer and the crew where the crew have to recognise the chair.
- Bubbles and Johnny having to give away their 'pants' after their trolley hits the car of one of Marlo's crew.

The scene where Bunk burns his pants because of the smell of pussy is hilarious.

I thought that the wake scenes where bunk would be puking outside Kavanagh´s and he´d turn to the two undertakers and they´d just nod was very good. Very subtle.

Omar in court, classic.

And i couldn´t stop laughing when after McNulty crashes his car and goes for a cup of coffee and next thing he´s banging the waitress.

Scene that made me laugh the most...

Near the end of season 5, mcnulty gets ratted out by keema and goes into an office with Daniels and Rawls.

Silence for a few seconds and then Rawls says probably the funniest line in the entire series...
