Chronic pain when grasping

5weeks ago when squatting my left arm was going numb and getting tingly. It would go away once I stopped squatting but it wouldn’t feel right for a day or two afterwards (still a small bit numb). This went on for 4weeks and then I read up about it and changed my grip to low bar grip which has stopped the numbness and tingling.

Now my problem is that for the last week I have extreme discomfort between my thumb and my index finger in my left hand, especially when writing or grasping. It’s nearly impossible to train. I didn’t strain the muscle, it just appeared from nowhere.

I hope I didn’t do permanent damage from my squatting previously.

Anyone have any ideas as to what’s wrong?
    Any cures?

You could of strained your thumb ligaments, but your really gonna need to go to a physio/doctor to know whats wrong and how to fix it.

Might be worth speaking to an osteopath either.
Could be a skeletal thing. Pressure on a nerve or something.

Im having similar problems. Gonna try osteo cos it doesn't feel muscular.

    hi,

I cant give you definite advice on what to do without assessing you properly but from the sounds of the injury it looks to be an inflamed radial nerve that is causing the pain.

My advice would be to go and see an osteopath or an athletic therapist whenever you get a chance

You'll need to see a medical professional for this one. Thread locked.
