    Maybe Dead Alive (Braindead)

    Ichi the Killer

Hostel seems to be mentioned a lot in regards to gory movies - I don't think it features that much gore at all.

Though I suppose it depends - would you define goriest film as the film featuring the goriest scene ever, or the movie that features the most amount of gore throughout it?

    *smokes pipe and strokes chin*

The Passion of the Christ - gorefest!!

    Audition for *that* scene.

You are only a whipper snapper so I couldnt in good conscience recommend anything to you.

My sig however does not have such moral highground.

Seriously Saw 3 or Tokyo Gore Police? Neither is particulary gory tbh, if you want gore look into Murder Set Pieces for a start. The Saw franchise while inventive in the realms of death is nowhere near as gory as people make it out to be.

Zombie flesh eaters. Even the title is gory

    Cannibal Holocaust, fact

Cannibal Holocaust isn't that gory. Sure it has some real animal cruelty but over all it's pretty tame going.

    Cannibal Holocaust, fact

    Have you seen CH?

There is not actually that much gore in it.

    Cannibal Ferox is much gorier.

    Fact.

Some movies are gory but incredibly OTT and in some cases comedic therefore the impact is lessened a hell of alot.

    Examples : Brain Dead,Riki-Oh,Versus,Tokyo Gore Police,Bad Taste,Fetus,Das Komabrutalle Duell,Re-Animator,Evil Dead 2.

Some movies are gory but retain an element of reality, therefore the gore is more impactful.

    Examples : Philosophy of a Knife,The Gateway Meat,August Undergrounds Mordum,New York Ripper,Maniac,The Prowler,Switchblade Romance, Inside,Murder Set Pieces.

Its purely subjective as to what you will find gory.

I think it has to do with the fact that your'e all of 14 years of age. Recommenfdign that you watch the films that myself and nedtheshed enjoy would be inappropriate.

well I can recommend some quality gore, without scruples!

    Martyrs (2008) France

    L'interieur (2007) France

Check those out if you dare !!

    L'interieur (inside) is outstanding.

Havnt seen Martyrs as yet but have heard mixed reviews about it(in terms of the film itself, not the gore)

The above movies along with the likes of Olaf Ittenbach and Andreas Schnass are prime examples of how boring and formulaic American horror cinema has become.
European horror is leaps and bounds of it.

I do find it a bit strange though that Italys horror output is non existent considering how impactful it was in the 70s and 80s.

Cannibal Holocaust,Zombie Flesh Eaters,Contraband, all the nazisploitation flicks,The Beyond,Dr Butcher MD etc.

It used to be a hotbed of gore.

Those 2 are great fun but pure cheese.

If you like Interior you will love Martyrs - it's clever and really chilling!

But yeah it's not as gory as it is disturbing. There are zombie movies for that I guess.

Another film, Irreversible, not "gory" in sense of the word, but has violence that in context seems like the hardest thing in the world to watch.

You're friends are 12 years of age, they're supposed to be sneaking down in the middle of the night to watch Commando, Showdown in Little Tokyo, Hellraiser and Braindead proper films. If you want to show them Hostel at least make it the superior second part.

Slaughtered Vomit Dolls and Re-Goregitated Sacrifice are 2 pretty out there flicks. They are the first 2 in Lucifer Valentines "vomit-gore trilogy"

They are incoherent and totally experimental but they are verrrry gory. Those with an aversion to vomit should avoid em though. There is alot of vomit.

some sscenes in hellraiser were gorey...but an overall film would be braindead

Dawn of the Dead (1978). Over thirty years after it was made it is still up there. Many classic gore scenes - machete in the head, screwdriver through the ear, scalped by helicopter blades, head blown off with shotgun and more. Great stuff

Also, Rambo (2008) is much bloodier than any modern horror that I can think of. Loads of 50 calibre gore.

ive seen hellraiser ( great movie ) and i dont think its as gross as that turd of a movie hostel 2 , hellraiser 2 is more gory than 1 but its still not as sick as hostel , everything about hostel is vile , right down to the eastern european cold indifference

Hellraiser isn't gory I was just saying that at the age of 12 it's the type of horror film you are supposed to watch. I think you missed the point of Hostel. The indifference is suppsoed to be there tough I'm not going to say that it's a crituque on how the world sees America as many others do. It's simply a rather entertaining film in which pretty people get butchered.

And how you should always have some candy, just in case you need the help of some murderous kids. That film has just the darkest humour. :D

I agree it is a very dark comedy. i rememebr my cousin watching my DVD of it and he spent the entire time pointing out one of his friends how was in it followed by saying how humourless and horrible the film was. I do believe that like many opthers he completely missed the point.

Thinking that I may watch Martyrs in a bit or a certain Anthony Wong film form the mid 90s, I'm sure the gore hounds here will know to what I'm refering. :D

There are a number of comedic moments in the film, they are of the dark variety and I'm not surprised that few people seem to notice them.

Didnt think Ebola Syndrome was that gory but it has been a while since I watched it.I remember it being more minging than anything.Must give it another spin soon.
I havnt seen Dr Lamb yet for some reason.Ive heard good things though.

Have you seen Human Pork Chop?
Not overly gory but still a nasty little piece of trash.

The latest Rambo was definitle quite gory but recently saw "Scanners" and although a sci-fi esque film it gave me one of the goriest i've seen in a while

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52pXvOFy1A4

John Carpenters "The Thing" had some classic moments aswell

Ichi The Killer. ****en hell, it was just over the top.

The last 15 minutes of Audition were also fairly sick. You can trust the jap directors to take things to the extreme.

Ichi isnt that gory when you think about it though.Yes,there are prolonged scenes of torture, yes its very mysoginistic, but not hugely gory.

    ichi-the-killer-movie.jpg

Take this scene.None of the carnage represented above is shown on screen, all we see is the doorway and a bit of blood spraying.

Something like The Story of Ricky or the Lone Wolf and Cub series are much gorier.

Dead Alive aka Braindead by far. Just ridiculous over-the-top (yet fun) gore the last 20 minutes or so of the movie.

Also love The Evil Dead's gore for the time it was made. Just sucha classic flick.
