Hi All - I just got my renewal notice from the glenroyal - €640 which seems a little steep! Does anyone know of any alternative GYMS in the area with a pool and decent facilities that are more affordable?

I know you said you wanted a pool but the NUIM college gym can't be beaten for value and equipment.

    Taken from their website.
    Membership rates for public
Joining Fee (applies to annual and 3 month membership only) euro € 100.00
    1 month membership, Individual euro € 60.00
    3 month membership, Individual euro € 120.00
Annual membership, Individual euro € 320.00
    Off-Peak Annual membership (cannot avail of gym after 4pm M – F) euro € 180.00
Pay and Play euro € 9.00 per workout

They never have anyone upstairs anymore so if you'd be willing to chance it you can use it for free (its free for students so they don't know any different).

Thanks Beau - I will defiantly call in to see it... I had assumed it was only for students, pity they don't allow the use of their swimming pool

During term time, I know they do have it open for the public (although the hours are very limited). During the summer I know they still do lessons, not sure if its open in general after lessons. For more info ring 01.708 6944 / 086.826 2111.

However, its on the South Campus a fair bit away from the fitness center which is on the North Campus (and its run separately from the fitness center too) so isn't very handy that way either.
