    I get really bad hangovers..
I've tried all the "cures" in the book..... The only thing that works is a big greasy mcdonalds the next day!!!

    What does everyone else do??

Gatorade, cleverly bought before gettin nitelink/taxi home, gets rid of nasty dry mouthedness when ya wake up and then loads of ice water and bananas when ya finally get up!

If that doesn't work just get drunk again and repeat:D

Sticking to 1 drink helps big time the rare occasion i do! an isotonic drink like lucozade sport or gatorade before bed will help big time getting your electrolytes back in balance before you wake up! If not a litre of water,a multivitamin & 2 neurofen have spared me from the complete horrors the next morning! If all else fails hair of the dog is the way to go!

water, and lots of it. the headache in a hangover is actually your dehydrated brain shrivelling up and pulling away from the inside of your skull.

    now pass me a drink

Lots and lots of water before going to bed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,196 ✭✭✭pyramuid man

Vomit if you need to then take three or four disprin in a bottle of water and down it and some alka seltzer and go back to be for an hour. Usually wake up right as rain or close enough.

!!!!!!Only for the most severe hangovers though!!!!!!!

Not to be used lightly as it will be bad for you.

If it's the weekend, more beer. If it's during the week sausage rolls and a coffee/tea with two or three sugars in there.

    Bloody Mary.
Tomato juce to give your stomach something to work on, replacing lost salts.
    Alcohol to numb the pain.
Spices to kill the taste buds.
    Lemon cos it's just nice.
Stick of celery cos ... cos... it's an edible drink stirrer!
Ice to make a nice gentle clinking sound.

If after two bloody marys you are still suffering then I suggest tequilla, the breakfast of champions.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

    For one who suffers badly from hangovers I found a few of things that work for me;

    1. Stop drinking
    2. If I am drinking, take one milk thistle tablet before and after going out. Repairs your liver
    3. I've switched over to drinking smithwicks and it doesn't give me half as bad hangovers.

I had the worst hangover after drinking J bombs recently (jaiegurmesiter and red bull) - talk about getting the fear! It was like a scene out of train spotting

Two Pints of water and a couple of painkillers before you go asleep,
Then a Pint of water next to your bed for when you wake up in the morning.

    It's the ultimate hangover proofing.

    Cant beat it.

    * A morning Bj also helps..

A seriously ice cold shower or a swim of any kind:D

+1 Sticking to one drink means virtually no hangover. I can drink Bottles of Heineken all night long and be dehydrated and tired but no hangover. Lots of water the next day all day long. 2 neurofen for any pains. Multivitamin for replacement of Vit C. Sea air is also good.

I have been getting monster hangovers recently even when I've been making an effort not to drink so much, it must be some sort of science with my aging body.

Anyway I found taking a sachet of dioralyte before going to bed works wonders for me. Anytime I've taken I have felt almost fine the next morning, so I can get up, go downstairs, not wash my hands, cos I'm a bloody bloke...(partridge anyone??)

Panadol and plenty of water before sleep and during the day after.

Drinking only vodka seems to leave me with no hangover, though YMMV.

ooh milk was a bad choice!!

im all for the lucozade and pears!!

If it's a Monday and you wake up to a cup of coffee, dont. It will futher dehydrate your body. Also be wary of drinking fruit juices as your stomach is probably over-acidic as it is.
I find a lucozade sport at night and a bottle of sparkling (and therefore alkaline) water in the morning does the job.

2 Actimel followed by a breakfast roll and an ice cold can of coke always does the trick for me... For the really bad ones a big mac meal and a strawberry milkshake....

A hand shandy and a nap straight after it. Right as rain after that.

I'd go with the plenty of water and some pankillers before bed. I get some monster hangovers, does anyone else get mad heart plapitations the morning after drinking spirits?
