I know this is not a medical board or anything but i was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same as me,

I have been on the pill for about 2 years and was told by my doctor to give it a break. Since being on this break I havent had a period yet, I only came off it last month but i am now about 20 days late,
I did 2 pregnancy tests which were negitive.
I am very bloated and put on a bit of weight and have a few spots (which i do when i am due my periods). Has any of yee girls out there come off yer pill and experienced the same as me or could i be pregnant and the tests are just incorrect???

I dont think that is too unusual, as it takes the body some time to recover and get back in its normal cycle however I think you should go to the doc and make sure all is ok for your own peace of mind :pac:

    Hope all is well.

Your body has to re-adjust. Panicking and stressing about it is not going to help matters. I know its easier said than done but try to relax a bit and not worry too much. You say that you have done two pregnancy tests and both were negative. Try to relax for a week put it out of your mind and see if that helps. If the signs are there I'm sure its possibly on its way.

My advice would be to relax for a couple of weeks (although its hard) and if it still hasn't come perhaps visit your GP. Unless you have good reason to be worried about been pregnant then I'm sure there's nothing to be overly worried about.

Thanks very much for the advice, I am going to try an drelax a bit more about it, im not panicing or anything but it is on my mind alot.
Im going to get one more test this evening (a more expensive one as the others were boots own brand) and il try it one last time, Im sure im ok as i my boyfriend was away and we only slept together the other night, and i was already very late by then.

I doubt you are pregnant. Sometimes it can just take the body a while to re-adjust after coming off the pill. Considering you were on it for 2 years straight, your body has probably built up a lot of hormones etc. I was on the pill for about 6 months one time and then stopped taking it as I ran out and didn't make it to a doc and I didn't get a period for 2 months! If you are still worried and/or not feeling well, pop along to your GP as he/she can tell you exactly what is going on :)

Highly doubt your pregnant, but go see your G.P if you are really worried. I came off the pill in November was on it for about 8 years, since the age of 15 for medical reasons, and my periods were haywire for a while after stopping, went 2 months without one for a while there, only now in the last 2 odd months do I seem to be getting "regular" whatever that is. Currently on a 42 day cycle, but at least I can now judge when Im getting it!

elbi im on the same boat as you! except iv been on it around 9 years! i had to come off it as my migraines at the time of the month were soooo bas i was missing work.

anywho, im off it since april/may and iv only had one period. i havn't had the bloating or bad skin - the opposite actually. have you had any spotting?? i don't know if thats the norm or not but i've had a good bit.

i had the slightes bit of spotting about 20days ago but was so little not even worth talking about.

i did another test last night (more expensive one) and it was still negitive, now and then i think im experience slight period cramps but as soon as they come they go, I probably sound like a crazy person but i just want to get it asap, i dont feel right.

Why dont you go to the Doc as all these pregnancy tests must be costing you a fortune.

The GP can do a blood test and its much more accurate!

(Slight spotting can be an 'implantation bleed' if you were to be pregnant)

The Doctor sees it all day every day and won't turn a hair whether you are pregnant or not. go along really, it will put your mind at rest.

Often, no sooner than the woman leaves the Doctors office then she will come on. Some think its psychological but at least you will be able to get on with things and stop torturing yourself !

Since I came off the pill I have 40-day cycles on average. Sometimes longer!

The first couple of months I was really paranoid I was pregnant but now I'm like BONUS!

Honestly if I only have 6 periods a year for the rest of my child-bearing years I'll be delighted. :D Don't want kids so it's all pro's and no con's as far as I'm concerned!

yeah, a few of yee now seem to have the same problem as me, i think best thing i can do is just relax and wait for it to come.
thanks to all for yer replys its kinda put my mind at ease, il give it untill after the weekend and then go to the doctor there is nothng else i can do.

I came off the pill after a few months last month.
My period was late I was snapping at everyone, thought everyone was out to get me, felt on the verge of tears for a week.. fun times!

It came about two weeks later and it was like some sort of hemorrhage!

If you're two tests were negative, you'll just have to hold out for the blasted thing to arrive.
Start knocking back the evening primrose oil and it should help.
    Best of luck though!

Also your doctor can stimulate your ovaries if it's going on too long, by too long though I'd be thinking 80+ days off the pill. I was waiting 62 days for my first period off the pill.

I think my main concern was "what if Im pregnant" but the text were negitive so im sure there is nothing to worry bout there, im just anxious to get it.

Das kitty - i heard there was a way of bringing it on by taking a pill, il go to the doc next week and shh what is suggested

    *Big Hugs!*
That's such an awful way to be.
You feel like you're going mad or on the verge of depression for the day or something.
Try the evening primrose oil, it might actually work or it might work as some sort of placebo.
Still, better than doing nothing and going mad from it. :)

I've heard that a bit of rumpy pumpy can help too... :p

i know how you feel, i came off the pill this time last year, got my period about fours months later, it was extrememly light which is unuasual for me. haven't had one since though properly just the odd bit of spotting now and again.

it's like i went from one extreme to the other. i have to admit hough, i'm enjoying not having them:o

i know this means a trip back to the doctors though to see if everythings alright.
