    Does anyone know if gym's update or replace their cardio machines regularly?

    I'm trying to figure out how long a gym would get out of their cardio equipment to see if there's anywhere close by I could possibly pick up a used machine for decent value.

    Thanks for your time

    As far as I know they'll always repair the machines til they're completely fooked, and replaced

    but they wouldnt be worth nething then

    Try the buyandsell, skips etc

    Loads of free stuff floatin around

    I think a few people were selling stuff or knew of where was selling before. I would just do up an email and send it round to all your local gyms asking.

    I think it depends on the Gym and the equipment.
    Also the quality of the piece

    A good rower will last a lot longer than a treadmill.

    I've done this job and in my experience what normally happens is;

    Club buys new gear and gets a trade in discount for their old stuff.

    The company that install the new gear (and take out the old) get to keep the old gear as part payment for the job (if they want)

    The recondition the old gear and sell it as a profit.

    Everyone's a winner, club gets cheaper kit, supplier saves on installation and installer makes a good profit.

    Cool.....
    I presume a reconditioned machine is cheaper than a new one?

    I'll PM a good lad's number who sells reconditioned stuff. Dont know what he has at present as no one is buying new kit at the moment.
