Knee cap a bit sore after gym

    Hello,

So I just started back at the gym after a long absence from it. To ease myself back into it I started with the couch to 5k program and I'm on the first week of it which is where you basically alternate between 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

It's been going ok but I've noticed my left knee cap is a bit sore when I bend my leg afterwards. I guess this is normal enough at this stage? I'm a 32 year old male, 5ft 10 and 243 lbs which is just over 17 stone. I've been taking it easy on the treadmill as I don't want to overdo things and I know you don't need to go like a maniac in order to see decent results.

My runners should be quite good I think, Asics Kayano's which were quite expensive but were recommended by a physio/runner guy I know. I'm just wondering if there's anything else that I should do to maybe make sure it doesn't get worse. I'm not in excruciating pain or anything, it's just a bit sore at times when I bend my leg.

Can I assume that as long as I take it easy and rest between gym sessions, that this will sort itself out. I've just started back so I don't want to be sidelined by some stupid injury so soon after starting again.

    Cheers

Rest it. If pain persists go see a doctor. The internet is not qualified to give medical advice :)
