    Hi,
I am a Vegatarian and I understand how important protein is for building and maintaining muscle structure. Is there any tips to add more protein to my diet? Also since I am a vegatarian and working long hours I frequently experience periods where I feel a serious lack of energy and feel very fatigued. Is there any healthy way to boost my energy?

    Any advice welcome :)

Do you eat dairy or egg products?

I drink about 1 litre of milk per day. Eggs: only both 3 a week.

Well I guess the first step would be to increase your egg consumption, perhaps three a day. There are many ways for a vegetarian to get their protein, but protein from pulses is often incomplete and comes with a lot of carbs attached. So eggs are useful because they wouldn't add lots of carbs to your diet.

All things in moderation and it depends on ur metabolism: 21 eggs a week might have an impact on your cholesterol so maybe get it measured accurately first and then say in 3 months

your GF can be happy if you have one,

How strict is your vegetarianism. Would you consider eating fish? As a lapsed veggie myself (I now eat tuna as a dietary supplement for training reasons) I know anything with a face is the rule, but it amazes me how many veggies consider fish on the menu, which is why I ask.

Also would you try protein shakes?

Hemp is also high in protien and suitable for vegatarians.

Yes there's a good chance that the eggs will lower your bad cholesterol and increase your good levels.

Can you buy hemp in Ireland? And is it edible?

Yeah, there is a place not too far from jervis that sells it, they do shelled and unshelled, shelled is more crunchy and unshelled has kind of a soft nutty flavour.

I've read some off putting stuff about soya protein, I try to avoid that.

What? I thought only girls were vegetarians?
How can you live without meat?

Haha, I agree though. I enjoy eating veggies but man I love eating meat.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is hemp not your basic gangja plant? I wouldn't have thought there wuld be much protein in it - its leaf matter. Also, it doesn't come in shells!

If its what i am thinking of, its available in ireland, but you won't find it in tesco!

You can get hemp prtein on myprotein.com I'm fairly sure. As well as pea protein, powdered egg whites which should be ok for a vegitarian. Beans, nuts, and wheatgerm are high in protein. Can't beat beans on toast :D
