Sniffing Copper

I was travelling down the road last Sunday morning at half ten. Garda checkpoint ahead. Was stopped and put down the window as the cop approached the car.

Next thing I know he starts asking question as sticks his nose into the car and sniffs.

I ask him what he is at. He replies "what do you mean". I say that I don't touch the booze and he ask what I am on about. We have a bit of a barney and I move on.

    This lot have some cheek.

He may also have been sniffing for gange. Or he could have had a cold. Or he could been smelling you to see if you are a suitable partner for him.

what a submissive comment. Maybe a copper could suspect einstein of hiding drugs internally, would you comply with a search?

I'm sure you'd be giving out about them too if you drove to the next junction and a drunk driver ploughed into the side of your car.

No, see I have some perspective on things.

You put 500,000 cars on a road and you get the odd crash accept it and move on.

I am not into this "give up all your rights for safety" trash.

You do realise if you don't comply with a search you will be continuing your trip in the back of a squad car. How are the guards supposed to know you havnt been drinking or using drugs unless they check, they cant tell by looking at you.

What the fuck are you talking about?? Accept it and move on?? Bollix. The Gardai are there for a reason. So what you don't touch either booze or smoke. Did you think that when the Garda saw you coming he would have known that??

Wow. Maybe you should read a few books about the soviet union, you would be shot for not complying.

Self respect. Ever heard of the term?

I have personal responsibility for my actions. I look after myself, and I have no interest in putting myself at risk. I don't need an "authority" figure to police my actions.

Well in this county the guards have the right to search a car and person on the spot under drug legislation. Funny though I have never had any searches or anything so the only conclusion is you have a head on ya that draws their attention.

Edit: I thought this thread was about people who had turned to sniffing copper as they couldnt afford drugs when I read the title.:D

and what outward signal is there that you are like this so that people dont have to engage you to find out?

What planet are you living on? Just because you weren't driving in a dangerous manner then, it doesn't mean that a few miles down the road you would be the same!!

Well the fact that I have not driven in a dangerous manner. What are you on about, don't PRE-CRIME me.

WOW, what a crazy comment. And would the copper see me a few miles down the road either.

Maybe we should all have individual CCTV on us to keep things in check, you never know what could happen.

Go live on an island by yourself then. We do have people who police the population's actions in this country. They are called the Police - the clue is in the name!

Did anyone else read this thread title and think it was going to be about a new drug craze sweeping the country?

and the relevance of that to police preventing crime? or is this just a case of "if I throw some stupid rants around dotted with unrelated Nazi related slogans to create a link between them and the Gardai then eveyone will agree with me and my crap" Maybe you should head off and try doing so work, it might just set you free.

Did you not know about the plans? Brian Cowan was cut off by a guy in the bus lane when he was younger, preventing him from getting to a job interview on time, his career has gone downhill since. Since then he has vowed to wipe drivers off the planet. Everyone that submits an application for a licence is snatched in the night and sent to a concentration camp in Leitrim,

What is it with the Irish? I tell you if they were being marched to an open grave at gunpoint, they would be talking about how nice the weather is.

No that is all part of AGENDA 21 by the United nations.

Have you not realised that there is a war on the private traveller/driver?

What is the problem here? The copper sniffed the inside of the car. What exactly are you offended about. That the cop didnt know by just looking at you that you don't drink or do drugs.

I'm totally with you on this one, Jimmy. Happening all over Ireland, in all institutions. Went to to a bank and asked for money out of my account. They wanted ID, PIN number, the lot. I told them I had money in my account, why would they need to check. Bloody bureaucrat saying he was just doing his job. Disgusting.

AND the bloody cashier in Dunnes wanted to check what all the items in my trolley added up to instead of me just handing him over what I knew it cost. Bloody cheek.

One step away from Pre-war Germany. That's what it is!

If they wanted you to blow in the bag would you have done it or would you have taken the 3 year driving ban for refusing instead?

Well if you are not automatically offended by such an insult on your person, i cannot help you

That the cop didnt know by just looking at you that you don't drink or do drugs.

    It's none of his business.

Jimmy I honestly don't think you have to "bend over" to blow into the machine...but if that has happened to you in the past I can understand why you don't like Gardai sniffing you.
