    hi

Im posting this here because i am hoping that someone here as takin this recently and can help me out,
I curently work for the HSE and have been selected for the paramedic training program, now i have heard that you should not end your employment but take a break till you have finished your training.

For those not aware, there is a career break scheme running at the moment, it was due to end the 1st july but they are still taking applications. You can get a third of your salary up to a maximum of 12000 per year.

Now people i know who have takin this have gone and done nursing and so on where you get an allowance and not a wage. I have read all the paper work and i think anyone goin for the paramedics can avail of this.

Is there anyone here who has done this or who are also looking at doing this, recruitment dont seem sure if its possible.

    Help please...

    k

I'd be surprised since paramedics and APs are an area that has been singled out for increased recruitment on account of closing smaller EDs at night or altogether. It wouldn't make sense for them to pay you to not work if there is an established need for increased numbers.
