    Hi,

I'm 9 and a half stone at 5 foot 3. I want to get down to 8 and a half stone.

I have big breasts for my weight (I'm a DD) and I've heard stories of people losing weight quick and ending up with saggy flaps of breasts.

I want to lose weight slowly and sensible and wonder is there any good firming chest exercises I can do while I'm losing weight?

    Cheers

The only exercises you can do are for the muscles under your breasts but it won't really make much difference to you breast tissue.

There's three main components to your boobs: the fat or adipose they contain, the mammary glands and the underlying pectoral (muscular) tissue. The reason why boobs can sometimes get saggy when you lose weight is because the adipose tissue in them is being diminished and your boobs will get smaller. To try and combat this you can do chest exercises that strengthen the underlying pectoral muscle and keep your boobs upright and less prone to sagging - push-ups and any kind of bench/ forward pressing movement will help you achieve that.

Just be of mind that it's almost inevitable that your boobs will change shape somewhat - but keep your weightloss slow and steady and you'll be able to monitor the changes better :)

I think you are worrying too much. A one stone loss shouldn't have any major effect on your breasts, except as g'em said, to reduce their size (which will probably be complementary to your frame).

It isn't as though you have five stone to lose; I'd say with your stone loss your whole body will look better all round.

Yeah a stone is very little, I expect women see far bigger increases/decreases while pregnant.

Probably best get properly fitted for a sports bra if running etc, and again when you lose the weight.

This just got me thinking!(before you read yes I am serious(mostly),Mods please edit delete if this isn't appropriate ;))
My girlfriend is giving out about her breast size the whole time eventhough imo she has nothing to give out about which I tell her all the time! Shes so self conscious though shes even mentioned surgery so it is a big thing for her really!I really don't want her getting implants. I've never mentioned them to her because they sound too good to be true but has anyone ever had or know anyone whos had experience of the Japanese F-Cup cookies(or anything similar)? They contain the herb Pueraria mirifica which is suppose to encourage growth in breast tissue amongst other things! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pueraria_mirifica#Uses Im in no way recommending* the product or the herb Im just trying to find out a bit of info & highlight their existence!

When you lose weight, it can come off in stages, but it should eventually all come off in proportion. I have much smaller boobs now than when I was fat, but they are still DD, so they look big compared to my waist. True, I need to wear a bra to look my best, but I suspect that is true for anyone who has anything bigger than an A cup.

That's good to know, I got a bow this week that tones your arms and chest so hope that will strengthen the muscles there a bit too and help things along

I am 10st 1lb now and want to get to 9st 7lb. I am a 32G. When I 9 stone (Too light for my height) I was a 32F/32FF. I reckon big boobs are big regardless. You have only a small amount to lose, I shouldnt think you'll have problems.
