    Card so far:-

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy

ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer vs. Christian

Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho & A Mystery Partner vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase

Divas Champion Maryse vs. Mickie James

I predict these might also be added:-

Ziggler V Rey for IC title

McMool V Melina and/or Gail for Women's Title

Kofi V Big Show for US Ttile

Am I the only one looking at that list and going boring on pretty much all of those matches?

I mean how the heck did Cena end up in the never ending "please go away and never come back" feud between Orton and HHH for example? Secondly how does that match look in any way interesting to some one (oh oh oh I know lets make it a steel cage match as well with no disqualification...)?

Make Jerichos partner be THE Brian Kendrick please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

They won't add Gail to the Mc Cool match as she is on Raw. Mc Cool v Melina along with Rey v Dolph I expect will be added soon on SD.
Two diva matches when was the last time that happened on a PPV?

    Why?

They would just end up being a comedy act?

All titles have to be defended. I don't think the Divas Championship was around last year for it, so I wouldn't have a notion when it last happened. Probably a Summerslam or something

I don't know. I am looking forward to punk v hardy, seeing who jerichos new partner is (Would be very funny if ted turned on cody), Rey who was brilliant in recent weeks v Dolph should be good.

Cena ended up in the match as they couldn't go with Orton v HHH again, adding Cena makes a change without needing to use a cage. The match also allows for Cena v Orton to be set up again. The last feud they had never got to finish because of Cena's injury.

Not necessarily. Kendrick is a brilliant worker with decent chrisma. Pairing him with Jericho could be a masterstroke.

But Jericho said he was going to get someone who was not anything like edge.

And i think Kendricks pretty useless without paul london.

    So maybe he would fit.

Really? While I think London is an amazing worker, I always thought Kendrick was the star of the pairing in terms of the way he carries himself and his innate charisma. Just because Kendrick's been booked like a chump apart from his little run leading up to the Elimination Chamber match last year, doesn't mean he actually is one.

During this week’s WWE SmackDown TV tapings from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida another match was announced for this month’s WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view. WWE Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio will be defending his Championship against Dolph Ziggler.

A good long series with Rey is exactly what Ziggler needs now to get him over as a good worker. No better man than Rey to do it either, hes been so good the last few months.

This was my favourite moment The Brian ever had. Always makes me laugh.

But earlier in the thread i meant that BK and Y2J wouldn't be on the same level at all.
So i cant see how it would get over that easily.

Thats how you get peopleover who are perceived as being at a lower level than others. If you put them with guys who people accept as stars and if they have the talent and charisma in their own right (which TBK undoubtedly has) then the audience will soon accept them as someone at that level. Its worked countless times in the past, look at how they used HHH and Flair in Evolution to get Orton and Batista over as major superstars. Its the oldest trick in the book.

Another match for this Sunday’s WWE Night of Champions PPV was announced during this week’s edition of WWE Raw. Kofi Kingston will defend the WWE United States Championship against MVP, Jack Swagger, Big Show, Carlito and The Miz.

I would have thought maybe Bourne and Primo would be included

Meltzer's reporting that Bourne was originally set for both Raw, and the PPV, but has been pulled. Something's up.

Primo winning the match on Raw, and not being in the PPV bout is mind-boggling.

Alvarez reported that, and one of the latest updates on the site says that Bourne is on Superstars, so it's probably just a case of them changing booking plans as they always do

He had a match with Noble on it.

Mc Cool vs Melina has been added. I will be shocked if this lasts longer than five minutes.

Reckon TBK is in with a shout Sunday after his promo on Raw about his tag title reign. Pity he lost to Lawler. If hes not picked I cant see him remaining in the company too long.

I think his days are numbered to be honest, so sadly I doubt we will see Brian on any PPV in the near future.. :(
I called it been Swagger/ Miz or Masters last week, I remain confident its one of those.

Interesting choice for the masterpiece. Never thought of that one. What about our other recently re-signed superstar Eugene?:pac:

So I read somewhere a few weeks back. Think hes just going to be used as a trainer with perhaps the odd comedy segment.

With some decent writing guys like kendrick can do a good job. With the rosters so thin these days and wwe looking to bring back old guys to add depth they should really look at the talent they already have and stop wasting it.

I would expect a guy who has no match on the card to be Jericho's partner. Masters is a good shout. I would prefer Shelton, a guy like jericho could finally help the gold standard raise his game.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

my original guess for Jericho's partner was TBK as it would mean that the WWE could act like they didnt just completley drop his search for a tag partner and cos he really does have the quality to take advantage of the push being placed with Jericho would be aswell as being a good tag champ (which he has of course done before). However after hearing that he was planned to face Bourne and has since lost to Lawler i dont see that happening.

Instead i would think that Jerichos partner is a young heel whos good on thhe mic so would fit with Jericho and someone who isnt currently feuding with anyone but perhaps wants to make a statement to impress a Diva... I am of course referring to The Miz.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

I think youve hit it right on the head BH.

If its not the miz i will be very suprised.

And also probably let down. :(

Its going to be a midcard guy though so why not The Miz? You weren't expecting Warrior,Savage or a zombie Benoit were you.:o

    No that was my point.

That i'm hoping its the Miz and if its anyone else its not going to live up.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

I know people were only saying him as an outside bet but i really cant see Vince giving Masters such a big push on his return as to team him with Jericho as probably one half of the unified tag team champions meaning he can appear on all shows especially after why he was let go and how tentative he seems to be pushing any talent that new WWE fans may not know i.e putting Christian on ECW, or how tentative Jeffs main event push was because of his past.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

If it is the Miz I will NOT be let down.

The Miz would be a terrible face. Jericho is an awesome heel. I don't see the team being a long tem gig as tag champs. Jericho is needed as a single competitor.

The natural ending to any team will be a feud at some stage. Neither would be well placed to be a face in the short term.

It would make sense to pick a guy who can do some dirty work for Jericho when they lose the titles. Miz doesn't fit that requirement.

Masters (Or my Fave Benjamin) would make sense. Jericho and Masters could stay as a duo long term before Masters turns on Jericho (Or vice versa), down the line one guy may be better placed to go face.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Actually the more i consider it Miz/Jericho would be (as the Miz describes himself) Awesome! and on Raw they could include Maryse too as part of their entourage, hell maybe Jericho (with Takers approval of course) could get involved with McCool on SD and they could have a womens champ accompany them on both shows and of course on PPVs their would be segments with the 2 ladies not getting on leading to a cross brand match at a big PPV.

i keep getting tempted to watch it but TNA hurt my brain the last time and ive not yet given it another chance although ive only just realised Miz is in the US Title match so i dont know about him anymore and still think they missed a chance with TBK who should have beat down Lawlor on Raw instead of vice versa and thus gained Jerichos respect by not respecting the former star.

Ah right , i thought it would be good to bring him in because he has a past with Edge and it would be a good way to get him more over as a heel. Id say if the IC title match is first i could see Ziggler losing and becoming Jerichos partner or maybe Ziggler will do double duty

    Undertaker would be epic.

Kevin Eck on his blog put up Christian, Jack Swagger and CM Punk as possiblilties. CM Punk's personality is converging with Jericho's. They've had some minor interaction in the last couple of weeks too. I don't know what it is about Swagger's look, persona, but he could fit in quite nicely. Some rub of the green that would be for him working alongside Jericho. Plenty of people online think Christian is god so i guess he can take up any role that is placed in front of him.

It is not going to happen but IMO it would be great to have HBK coming back as a heel as Jericho's tag team partner!!!

I think Jericho is doing a Matt Hardy, He always reads the pro wrestling sites and says the opposite on facebook and twitter.

Any ideas about the outcomes of the World title matches.

I assume CM Punk will retain his belt somehow. Who would be next for Punk?

HHH, and Orton should probably end at Summerslam so that leaves it open for Cena to win. But who could Cena take on?

Cena v CM Punk in a Champ v Champ match at summerslam would be a good follow on from night of champions. I wouldn't expect it but i would order Summerslam if it happened.

JoMo has been billed from Smackdown to challenge the winner of punk/hardy.

Cena V MVP would be great imo.

Cena V CM Punk would be awesome. Imagine a unified world title.

If i had to guess I could see Cena (if he won) facing HHH in a 1on1 match at SS which i have seen rumoured where he would probably retain thanks to some sort of interferance / distraction from Orton (who is still incensed at having been screwed outta his rematch). Then at Breaking point which follows it Orton finally getting his rematch and regains the gold against Cena before at Hell in a Cell (formerly No Mercy) both World titles are put on the line in HIAC matches which id guess is the likely place for HHH vs Orton to finally finally end.

in other words Raws main event will continue to suck!

    From Jerichos Twitter: (http://www.twitter.com/IamJericho)
I'm not gonna say who my partner is going to be tomorrow....but he is EVIL....

Its fairly obvious now. Jerichos partner is going to be:

    TakaMichinoku.jpg

    Indeed.
