COD:MW2 Prestige edition

For all you crazy COD4 fans, Activision & Infinity Ward have announced the Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 which includes a functioning pair of night vision goggles & download code for COD1 which is due for release on XBL/PSN soon.

Now this is how you do a special edition. Activision and Infinity Ward look to be going all out for its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition," with not only the usual accoutrements like a special casing and an art book, but also what is described by Community Manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling as a "fully functioning NVGs -- night vision goggles." No idea how well they work, but it's got alternating modes and MW2 branding.

The Hardened(Collector) and Prestige editions both contain a code to download COD1 for the PC as well as COD1 is coming for digital download on XBL/PSN.

Looks great but the price may be to high for me as I have to pick up two copies of the game when it comes out .

I'll just get the hard case edition for the free CoD1 download. It shouldnt cost too much extra and it looks the business.

Same, the price for the standard edition will be close to €75 as it is so i wouldnt want to know what $150 will translate to in europe

The steel box edition is going for $79 and the prestige edition is going for $150 so going by the usual currency conversions, the price will the same in €.

I had that too, sold it when I sold my 360! But for those of you who do care, I was talking to the guys in Gamestop today and they said that they haven't received any official word on this as of yet but were expecting offcial news in the comming weeks.

Modern Warfare 2 to be priced at new higher cost of £55 sterling in the UK which is a £15-20 premium over standard PS3, 360 games.

Going by that logic, the Irish price could be anywhere from €70-80 for standard edition.

I guess that makes sense since so many people are going to be buying it, looks like ill be getting this online then, gonna get the standard one aswell because i dont care about art books or nvgs i just wanna play online.

I'm glad I pre-ordered the standard edition before Activision bumped up the price, ordered it last month for €55 delivered from Amazon.

Suppose I could have got it in Smyths for €54 with the loyality card but I think they are going to put the price of it up unless you pre-order it.

HMV selling them for £120 Sterling, thats €138 so if they ship it to Ireland (they should shouldn't they?) It'll be around €141 delivered.

Yeah, they will ship here, I ordered the GTA4 limited editions from them but is cost more than £5 because of the size and weight.

Pricing has not been confirmed. The RRP and cost prices have not been set but we're bracing ourselves for a €74.99 RRP.
