Spotting scope recommendations?

I'm in the market for a spotting scope. I've been using DURC's AHG scopes which are (AFAIK) 15-45 x 65 and they seem to be useful enough so something similar to one of those would be great.

I'll be shooting primarily at 50m but I will occasionally shoot at 100yd and I enjoyed the classic 300yd shoot so I don't want to skimp too much and restrict myself to 50m. That said, I don't want a scope that's worth more than the rifle. :)

The Opticron IS60 and IS70 seem to review well. Does anyone have any experiences with those or any recommendations.

a trip into conns cameras off grafton st might be the way to go , they have a lot of makes from far eastern stuff to top german stuff like swarovski and zeiss , they sometimes have good second hand stuff , i bought a pair of leica binoculars a few years ago for less than half price and that included a years warranty .

Thanks, I hadn't remembered there were shops in the real world. :D

That place is not far from work so I might drop in there at lunch time.

I think Sean uses an Opticron. Had a look through his and it's nice glass. Would be a good buy at the right price methinks. The Konus range is well liked as well. Here and here are some examples.

If money's no object Nikon scopes are excellent, amongst the best I've seen.

Opticron, as already mentioned, are also very good, especially their mid to high end models.

Surprised Kowa hasn't been mooted, traditionally being very popular amongst target shooters.

Saw an interesting set up recently, an Opticron scope with a digital camera mounted on the eyepiece, and video out to a small laptop beside the shooter. You could control the camera zoom via the laptop and could get such good quality you could score the shots effectively.
