    So what?

Looks good, think that 30k stack and WSOP structure is the new way to go.

I agree, it tends to favour the better players. Yourself, Richie, Lorcan, Femi, Robert, John, Cormac, Lady Di and Ronan all at the final table last weekend.
I would be surprised if this years final table in November didn't have 4 or 5 top pro's on it.

I agree too, good deepstack, good structure should be a great game, i hope my now wife will let me play :D

    Hi BigBlind,

I'm not trying to copy anyone here (well I am the WSOP) as Ste has mention already I ran this structure last November in the Green Isle as part of the Bruce Poker Launch Festival http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055395371&highlight=Bruce+Poker+Launch+Festival .

I also ran this game for almost a year in the Red Cow every Sunday and it was considered one of the best games in the country at the time, unfortunately it wasn't a profitable game as the structure was TOO GOOD. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055100406&highlight=deepstack%2C+hotel and I had to stop running the game.

I believe this is a fantastic structure will tons of play and hope the weekend will be a great success!

    Hope you can make it!

    great idea!

any chance of sneaking in a €100 omaha double chance in there somewhere? freezeout prefarably but omaha might work better as double chance.

    pros:
    1) its omaha
    2) it offers more variety, though i do like that there is 3 formats of No Limit Hold Em in this.
    3) it would offer tournament omaha for less than €200, which is very rare in ireland

    cons:
    1) competent omaha dealers are scarce, and probably better used on a cash table.
    2) demand might be limited to only a few tables
    3) anyone playing would detract from numbers in another event, and not sure where you'd fit it in.

But have a think about it.

    Hi Jeff,

I might be able to squeeze it in on Saturday night if there was enough interest in it.

We'll have no problem of getting competent omaha dealers as Dani is on the case.

looks like a good game jp,will defo play..just 1 question why November?i kno the FT is on then..but if theres not much hype about the FT people could lose some intrest in this and the wsop maybe getting lower numbers for your game..with a few irish names going deeper and deeper in the ME,the ME in cellbridge etc there would prob be a bit of intrest sooner rather than later? my opinion anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,079 ✭✭✭smurph

    I think it's a perfect time tbh
Alot of people will be looking at the Ladbrokes Festival the beginning of October,
there is nothing worse that one festival withing 1 or 2 weeks of another.

It also gives JP a chance to run satellites and get qualifiers for it over the next couple of months.

Before you know it it will be upon us.

To be honest I've been trying to get a suitable venue for 5 weeks now.

I could have taken the 1st week in September but as smuph said it will be to near the team event that I'm helping Fintan with in City West.

Some minor changes have been made to this event when compared to Event 41 at this years WSOP. Mainly the last 3 players from each table go forward to the next round (with the chips they have earned) instead of just the winner.

As a result the starting blind levels on the following rounds have been brought back a couple of levels to reflect the lower average stacks.
    E.g. Round 2, Level 1 will be 500-1000 (100 Ante) and not 1000-2000 (300 Ante)

    Hi JP,

Will any of your pub games be running sats for this?
    STT's or MTT's ?
Looks like a great event, would love to play it, might be forced to try sat into it though (recession):D
I'll definatley play 1 of the side events,
Has Paul agreed to run sats on Bruce?
    Best of luck with this,
    Tony

Sounds good JP, is this game starting soon?

Do ya reckon you will be holding or there will be any Multi table sats even closer to the date, 1 ticket for every €350 in the pot etc, I reckon with it been close to x-mas a €50 or €70 freezeout with tickets to the ME in the prizepool only, would get a Very Generous amount of runners???

    Just a thought.

Best of luck with this, and i'm sure i'll see you soon.

I actually started the game last Sunday but at the moment it is running as a sat for the Waterford Masters and will then change to the Macua Irish Poker Classic.

Just take a very circuitous route to the bar so you end up walking about a mile and you have it:D

Don't worry we'll have our Vegas Banners up. It will look and feel just like the Rio.

    Oh and what Dara said:D

I have to go in and size out the room, visually its about 2/3's the size of the room that I normally use in the Red Cow and I got 38 tables in their if I remember correctly.

I use as many tables that will comforably fit.

The short handed event will more than likely have a cap on it aswell.

    Nice one Jp as always.
The triple shoot out looks very interesting.

Is there anyway you can have some input to the IO structure next year? I never complain about structures but it's an absolute disgrace.

Will seats have to be reserved for this JP, or will it just be first come first served? (sat winners an exception, obv).
