Hi all this is my first post here on fitness [or my lack of it] anyway i am cycling and hill walking to lose some weight and get fit have started at the beginning of the year hill walking from Jan to March and lost 1.5 stone, but then fell into bad habits again. So started walking again and did a six hour hill walk in Wicklow where i live and also traded in the mountain bike and invested in a road bike and started to cycle.

So my weight at the beginning of the year was 19 stone im down to 17.5 stone and i would like to get down to 15 stone by the end of the year.

So my diet is at the moment

    Breakfast

Two eggs scrambled with 3 slices of mcCambridges brown bread and tea
    or
    All bran with skimmed milk
    or
Porridge [ mainly during the summer]

    Lunch

Two pieces of friut with 3 cream crackers
    or
    ham sambo on white
    or
    Soup[ mainly during the winter]

    Dinner

    Meat veg and spuds
    spag boll
    Mexican wraps with beef/chicken
    steak veg spuds

And then once a week my treat of take away/pizza or Indian

I would have the odd choco bar or crisps aswell

Oh and loads of water each day.

What does my diet look like any advice would be great.

    Con

    Lunch

Well if you wanna boost metabolism have 5/6 meals a day- find out your calorie needs and spread them out for the day. If your goals are just to lose weight-i presume you mean fat there- then a SMALL reduction in calories per day from your total will see you losing weight!
This rate of loss will slow then stop as you get lighter and you will need to refine your exercise/diet.
Critique of your diet-3 meals-awful for fat loss.
2 eggs scrambled(2 yokes in one meal bad)- wat additives?
3 slices of brown bread?- very bad usually unless a very genuine wholewheat/meal product-see ingredients check for trans fats etc
    all bran- proccessed rubbish
    Cream crackers-proccesed rubbish
White bread- even worse then most browns-highly processed rubbish-NEVER eat!
Ham-very fatty and salty-replace with chicken if possible-much leaner!
    MEAT-wich meat-hopefully chicken/turkey/salmon/tuna
Spaghetti-processed rubbish unless its wholewheat pasta.
Mince- fatty protein-eat lean protein like chicken/tuna.
    Wraps-processed rubbish.
Tip- dont EVER starve yourself- just eat a bit less then you need and spread meals out to 5/6 a day!

Oh really? Why is that then?

Sorry for the off topic OP, this just caught my eye.

Damn and all those times I ate mince and lost weight. Never again!

I also don't think that it's been proved this actually boosts your metabolism either? I will stand corrected though?
