    Hi,

I get a stiff neck after doing push ups. Why is this and how do I stop it?

    Thanks.

Vague question so I'll give you a vague answer. That you look up or ahead when doing your push ups and have your neck in hyperextension causing cervical nerve compression. Keep your neck in a neutral position next time and see if that helps.

Try not to have your head in a forward (i.e. position pushing your nose towards the ground) and if your upper arms are at right angles to your body (spine) move them to a bit further down you body.

It worked for me years ago, when I had a similar problem.
