Seriously, are you girls done with it yet? Are we past that dark age in societal development? Because I keep seeing ads for it on Comedy Central. And apparently they're making a new movie too - this is particularly heartbreaking, as the only reason it grossed so much at the Box Office the first time is because every poor chump on the planet with a girlfriend was dragged to it, thereby doubling its would-be profits. Thereby convincing the studio execs that making a sequel would be financially viable.

    /shakes fist
Was never under it, its the greatest load of *****e ever to be inflicted on the public,(not including the old regulars such as corrie/wankenders/dweeberdale and of course, the most embarrasing thing ever to come out of this country, fairly sh*tty)
Its so stereotypical, women have no brains/need a man to rescue them and make thier worthless life meaningfull, and we have no interest in anything other than shoes and designer labels...BIG FCUKIN YYYYAAAAAWWWWNNNNNN
    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I only started watching it a couple of months ago. I think it's clever, funny and well written. Also it's a piece of fiction and women that don't see that are idiots.

I hate Carrie though, whiney bitch thinks the world revolves around her. Also usually I agree with the men and think the women are being paranoid and stupid.

Ah, scratch that, have me answer right here ;)

So you think "classic" one liners like "Im a TRISEXUAL, Ill TRY anything once" is clever funny and well written???

Each to their own I suppose

I liked Sex and The City.

Might be a lot of stereotypes and generalisations in it, but so long as you don't take it TOO seriously, or believe it's true to real life, I think it's quite entertaining!

I mainly watch it for the clothes - I like seeing how they put outfits together and getting ideas.

Yeah, at least it's original. Why do people keep saying she looks like a horse as if they're the first ones to say it?

I enjoy Sex & The City, it can be highly entertaining. It's not realistic though, it's certainly not a depiction of female empowerment (the same messages are still there, just packaged differently - so what if they've careers and are promiscuous?) and Carrie and Charlotte are morons. Even Miranda, the supposedly "strong" one, can be incredibly needy.

    Because it's true...

Oh people keep saying it as if they're the first ones to say it, as if they're being super original "because it's true". Gotcha.

I never said I was first. Did you not notice me mentioning I got it off Jeremy Clarkson?

People keep saying it because it really is the most fitting description of her.
    End of.

Aren't you around 20 Pika?! I'm nearly 30 and I can't identify with any of the clothes :/

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,002 ✭✭✭LimeFruitGum

They didn't half bang on about shooooooooes. It should have been Shoes in the City, instead of Sex. As for the clothes - I do remember SJP looked genuinely lovely in some outfits and then other times, "WTF???".
You didn't have to watch the show to see what they were wearing, the magazines would always feature the outfits the next week.

I can't understand why it's always on the Comedy Channel, it isn't that funny.
My sister loves it but I never really got into it; I have a very low tolerance threshhold for shows with needy, neurotic New York whinging women. :-/

Never liked it and be damned anyone that says i have to cos i have a minge.

God men..grow a set of balls.
If she insists on dragging you along to see Sex in the City (biggest load of ****e ever) she obviously has no respect for you.
Straighten up, chest out and tell her in no uncertain terms that you will not be going to watch this crap.
If she still insists dump her ass.
You might be single but at least you'll have your dignity and the admiration of men everywhere for making a stand.
but where do i get my hole??:(

In the immortal words of Dr Bollocko....
take 4 opposing viewpoints and split them into moronic one dimensional female fonzies, follow each lame decision through to its logical conclusion and then just buy some shoes and **** a rich guy
