    Sunday July 5th is the annual Irish benchpress champs, organised by the IDFPA. Held in Dolan Fitness, Tullamore.
    Anyone going?

    not going to this, but i was at the two competitions earlier this year.

    are you going op? any idea how many entrants?

    No idea how many are going but numbers are up again this year.
    Should be good fun. I might go see it.

    What weight do people be lifting at these competitions... just curious, Its one thing im decent at in the gym.

    The results section in the website will tell you that.
    Just follow the link above, these contests are divided by weight category.
    To cut a long story short, a few 85kg men at my gym bench 150kg.
    Some bench over 160, a really intersting sport whatever level your at.
    Incidently Ireland still holds the world record at this event.
