So I joined the gym bout 4 weeks ago. Beginning to find just my routine boring, so I've started trying different classes!!!

I'm doing 1 spin, 1 aerobic and 1 bouncy-bounce:) on the trampoline a week while still doing weights every second day. Anyway... can anyone tell me if I should just stick to the routine given to me or are the classes a go???

Get VERY bored VERY easily so the classes are keeping me motivated but will they still give me the desired results??

It really depends how hard you work in the classes, if by the end of the session your absolutly knackered i see no harm in doing them to keep yourself enjoying the exercise.

Yea, I generally find I feel like I've really put myself through it when I do a class where as when I follow the "do this and you'll see results", I don't feel half the pleasurable pain the next day....

If your still following the programme provided by your trainer, AND doing a couple of classes a week to boost your calorie burn, its got to be a good thing.

Be aware of over training though. If you training volume exceed the period of time it takes to recover you could be doing more damage than good.

...."Improvements in strength and fitness occur only during the rest period following hard training (see supercompensation). This process takes at least 12–24 hours to complete. If sufficient rest is not available then complete regeneration cannot occur".....

Probably best to speak to your Trainer and perhaps he can amend your programme to allow for a class or two... ;)
