    Hi,

I am looking to increase my body strength, build muscle, and get super fit.
I am thinking of joining a bootcamp such as Bootcamp Ireland. Or others such as http://www.bhaf.ie/index.php or www.crossfit.ie

Are any of these worth it? Will I get the results that I desire? Or could I do this at home with some weights and running in the park??

    Thanks.

The thing that you don't have at home and in the park is the support structure and guidance that goes along with these organisations.

The outcome of these programs as well as the outcome of the 'park & weights' option that you're also considering as with all programs of any sort comes down to your intrinsic motivation and dedication really as much as the structure/complexity/design of whatever option you pursue.

The question you need to ask yourself is what 'environment' you'll enjoy the most? Some times I enjoy going swimming or hiking for example because it gets me away from others....but I enjoy rugby/GAA/basketball/MMA training equally sometimes because I want a shared experience...I know that athletes I train often talk about past sessions and there is a bond between those that 'got through' or 'completed certain sessions. A lot of people just like turning up and being told what to do...to not have to engage in the mental process of program design...they can just turn up get told what to do and put their heads down and go for it.

So I suppose the answer to your question is yes or no or it depends. I'm sure that's no help whatsoever.

OK an new year and a fresh start.

Any advice on this? I am pretty good at pushing myself so I find training on my own ok.
