Good tunes have been a bit thin on the ground this year so far compared to last year and especially the year before but it only takes 1 classic, this is an absolute brilliant tune,an upliting happy summer tune no darkness here, the majestic Graeme Park isn't just a legendary DJ he also produces some amazing tunage and this is one of them, available to buy on DJ Download, the K-Klass mix is good but it's the original club mix which does it for me,the promo has been around for a while now, this is gonna be massive..quality 2009 House Music.

    Soundclips

Park & Hussey - Samba Party

It has been a golden age for those of us who haven't grown out of hard house/nrg yet. Too many for me to choose from, but if I had to pick just one it would be "Base Grafitti - Homeboy"

Park and Hussey's track is really Summery, good find.
Also a fan of the Deadmau offering.

Um I can't think of any tunes that have come out this year worth menioning apart from Dizzee Rascal 'Bonkers'!

    **searches internet for tunes**

EDIT: Found one: Hagenaar & Albrecht - What Would We Do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4YkriSj2jI

    Im split between two tunes...

First is John Daly - This is a lonely beat
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSlESrMQMu0

Second is Burial + Four Tet - Moth
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czl6-4lrr6Q

Both are top notch I reckon

    Luke Hess - Meaning Matters

Yeah that Luke Hess album is great.

Many tracks I've loved so far this year... on a chilled dub techno note, Yagya is definitely up there with the best so far.

On a heavier note, Luke Slaters return as Planetary Assault Systems has produced some fairly kick-ass techno again, good to see him back and away from his 'electro-house-sh*te' phase.

Didn't realise Tiga had something new out. It's bland track but the Mr Oizo remix is good stuff.

Tune of the year of tune of the summer?

Can never think of favourite tunes of the year, i buy so many records and get sent so many tunes a lot of them seem to just blur together, and loads of the best ones don't seem to be on Youtube either yet, but here's a few recent favourites:

Calibre - Stolen Shadow - Deep Medi - Ireland's finest DnB producer makes his dubstep debut on the best label in Dubstep and it's a soul drenched garage-y dubby roller... Love this one...

Instra:Mental - Photograph - Darkestral - hardly a summery tune, but i think you'll agree it's pretty special... Caning this on the radio

Played this at Life and it went down pretty well I must say; it's even better if you're an old git like me and remember the awesome movie all the samples are lifted from - but those twisty filtered Amen breaks alone are worth the price of entry

Another Furney tune, played this at Life too mixed it into Serum and Bladerunner's "Snakefist" - pretty straightforward tune, a real "in-and-out" jobby, but those chanting vocals are really memorable and there's serious amounts of sub bass in there... Shame the youtube clip is all pitched up like that though...

Serum and Bladerunner - Snake Fist - Creative Source - not the sort of tune people who really know me would expect me to play but the bassline is proper - combined with those piano loops, the kung fu flick samples and those muddy grotty Amens there's so much movement there and so much impact, all i could really do was grab my nutsack and punch the sky when it dropped...

That's a really nice tune alright but I much prefer the other track on the EP: Foxxy

Flynn: Michel Cleis - La Mezkla is a stunning tune, I've played it to death at this stage though.

i know, wonders will never cease eh,if i said putting your hand into the fire was likely to get you burned he would disagree :

    eh where did I disagree?
I said it sounds like a soundtrack to a cheap gay tv travel show.

That doesn't contradict anything jonny said.

I think he worded it wrong. What he should of said was,

"I don't think I can quite believe it, jtsuited 'ripping the p1ss out of' jonny 68"

But for what it's worth, I actually agree with his comment about the track.

I think it was the "Jaysus" that gave it away. ;)

Jonny, you bring it on yourself with these kind of statements. "It is house music of the highest calibre", you are not stating an opinion here but rather that the statement is fact, as if this tune was the best house track there ever was. You can't say afterwards "but you're entitled to your opinion" because you've already stated that any other opinion is wrong, in your eyes at least.

Maybe this is miscommunication but you should choose your words wisely when trying to say something through text, otherwise people get the wrong idea most of the time.

ill choose my words anyway i like, IMO it IS of the highest calibre and if someone thinks otherwise that is their perogative.

Jonny I just listened to that track again, and the originaly mix of that track anyway, with its little Zylaphone breakdown, is just a little bit fruity. To me its pretty standard unoriginal funky house, nothing really special. Even the remixes kind of cross the spectrum of the standard different sounds you could do with the track. The Jay Kay mix is miles above the rest, nice little beat to itactually. But come on there are miles better similar tunes out there are the moment.

One thing I have notices thought is some old skool funky type tunes appearing on beatport - Milk & Sugar - Let the Sun shine for example. Remix is crap though the Original was way better.

Then again there is some horrible crap that gets to the top of the beatport charts, like the Tetris track which has been there for ages. What self respecting DJ plays that i have no idea.
