Complimentary Ladies Weight Training Workshop

After some extensive research over in the ladies lounge it has been brought to our attention that some girls find the thought of lifting weights a daunting prospect. For this reason we are hosting a complimentary workshop on how to lift and do so safely this Saturday, July 4th.

Our CrossFit certified will introduce you to safe and effective lifting technique. More information on our coaches can be found here

All we ask is that you come along, have some fun and at the very end give us one way that we could improve the gym and its surroundings for our members.

We know and have seen firsthand that lifting weights along with a sensible diet is the fastest and safest way to change your shape and get lean and trim.

Here's a testimony from Sue, one of our girlies who started with us in November:
After many years of training in a gym and only achieving any goals from my own motivation, I was on the look out for something new. I had always been a bit of an ‘aerobic junkie’ mainly because I loved it and because to weight train properly in a gym is quite off-putting with lots of ‘hard-men’ strutting around looking at you curiously if you even attempt to lift something heavier than 2kgs. I was introduced to Crossfit by my boyfriend, as he was convinced that I would love it due to the variety of training. He wasn’t wrong. I started back in November 08 and I am really enjoying it. The training in a group gives great support and great motivation. Crossfit is great for girls, as I am just getting stronger each time I go, but not bulking up, which is most girls fear. I had feared being quite aerobically fit that the Crossfit would not sustain that fitness, but it does. The mix of weight training and cardio work is a great all-rounder. I would recommend Crossfit to anyone that wants effective training but in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

We've one hour workshops on at 10am, 11am or 12 noon. Directions, map, and video of how to reach us in Tallaght can be found here.

To book a place please PM me or call Tom on 086-6077771.

    Thanks,
    Colm

(G'em, emailed the admin, still waiting to hear back so posted this under my account for the time being)

    You're an odd guy, Khannie.

Sure if you want to pop out I'm sure we could accommodate you, provided you wear that corset :D

Are only complimentary ladies allowed to attend or can derogatory ones attend too?

That's the best I could come up with.

Best of luck with this, a noble venture which I am bound to copy at some stage without giving any credit to Reilly.

Ohh, I'd be happy to, it was rather enjoyable.
I am hugely interested in weights and weight lifting as I feel the stronger I get the more it contributes to my other love, kickboxing- plus at 36 I want to stay as strong and fit as possible for as long as possible
I have gleaned most of my lifting knowledge from websites and magazines and the occasional snippet from the really big chaps in my local gym who are usually happy to offer advice so long as you don't disturb them during a set. Naturally though this has still left a forfeit. So it was terrific yesterday to go along to CrossFit and have Colm take the time to instruct on where a gal might be going wrong and more importantly, how to correct the mistakes- form being so vitally important as the weights go up.
The session was unhurried and informative, so much so I have decided to join up for a further 12 classes to learn as much as I can and put it all to practical use in my own training. I would highly reccommend it for any woman interested in shaping up. I wish more women did not rely on just cardio or machines to 'tone' up, but attitudes are changing-slowly but surely.

Colm, thanks a lot. Will be in ESS next Wednesday.

Just back from the 11 o'clock class.

Found them good and informative. Learnt alot in the space of an hour.
I'd recommend them if your starting out, experienced or just want some tips they are the guys to talk to.

The video how to get there is a good added extra on the website.
