Our official Rainbow Warrior is up and under the multi-coloured Noc-Light of inquisitivness!

    So, to start off:

    1) How many different sports do you do and do you have a favourite?

    2) What are your thoughts on RTÉ not giving the Pride parade any real air time at the weekend?

    3) What are you looking forward to most in Galway?

    4) Why heavy metal?

I'll probably have more at a later date :)

    1) At the moment I run and swim. I haven't trained much in taekwondo in a while, and won't do much until after the Dublin Marathon.

    2) I think it's a bit of an insult that 12,000 people celebrating who we are and standing up for our rights aren't even mentioned on the national broadcaster, while the Oireachtas family day and the ordination of priests both get airtime.

    3) Actually having money because I'll finally be working! It's also a bit of a change from Dublin, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really nervous about it. I'm staying in a hostel down here until I get somewhere to live properly.

    4) Because it's AWESOME. :D

    1) What grade are you in taekwondo?? I'm assuming it has a belt/grading system.

    2) Favourite book??

    3) Favourite 3 bands??

    4) Any type of music you don't like??

If you can read this, you're too close!

    1) 1st dan black belt - the ITF grading system runs from 9th gup-1st gup, 1st dan-9th dan.

    2) No idea actually, but the last book I really loved was "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini.

    3) This changes all the time, but right now it's probably Dream Theater, Sonata Arctica and Mastodon.

    4) I really don't like chart pop. It completely lacks substance and just irritates me.

    1) Daddy or chips?

    2) If you had to choose an actress to play you in a movie, who would it be?

    3) Favourite TV shows?

    4) Were you upset to hear Jacko died?

    Howdy:)

    1. Got a favourite item of clothing?

    2. Ever fulfilled a dream, or have you any?

    3. Chocolate or Strawberry milk?

    4. Fave actor/actress?

    5. 3 things you would do if the 2012 theory was proved right and we are all DOOOOOMMMMED!!!!?

What pisses you off about society?

What's the worst thing you've witnessed on a night out?

How would you rate your time in UCD?:pac:

Were you a part of the LGBT society in UCD? If so, I've read a few articles about people feeling excluded due to the alleged cliquish nature of the society. What's your view on that?

    1) Chips :p

    2) Natalie Portman :D

    3) South Park, Family Guy, ER, The L Word

    4) Not really, I was just waiting the obligatory 5 minutes for the jokes to start though.

    1) Not really, but I do love my "Save a tree - eat animals" t-shirt that I got in London last year.

    2) If getting to see one of my favourite bands in a small, intimate venue counts, then yes. Sonata Arctica, Button Factory, April 2008. \m/

    3) Neither, I'm mildly lactose-intolerant.

    4) Toughie! Purely as an actor, I think Sean Penn is amazing. I also love Samuel L Jackson, because he's cool :)

    5) (a) Firebomb the Fianna Fail tent at the Galway races this year when it's full of politicians and the jackasses that got rich from the property bubble
    (b) Go spend a lot of time travelling
    (c) Just generally have a good time until then :)

    1) People being jackasses for the sake of it, people acting like the world owes them something and the way people tend to freak out a bit about anything that's different to their own narrow worldview.

    2) Massive fight breaking out outside the Playhouse in Tallaght a few years ago, probably about 20 people involved.

    3) That's actually a tough one, because I had some very good times there, and some very bad ones. So my answer is this:
    rollercoaster.jpg

    4) Yes, I was a part of UCDLGBT in my last 2 years there. It is incredibly cliquey, and it can be very hard to get to know people. I was lucky in that I'd been talking to someone on AngryPotato over the summer who was fairly high up in the society so that gave me a bit of an "in", but for people who are completely new to things it can be very tough to get to know people and that can be a really huge turn-off for the society. Which is a pity, because part of the function of the LGBT society is to act as support for those who come to question their sexuality in their time at college and if it is very cliquey then it can be like a brick wall for someone who comes to the society looking for support.

    who let the dogs out?

what was the story behind your user name?

    who likes short shorts?

if you had a rhythm stick, which boardsie would you like to hit most?

how do you take your steak, burnt to a crisp or bloody as hell?

    best/favourite book to movie adaptation?

if you could mod any forum which one would it be?

    1) the Baha-Men :p

    2) Event Match #6 in Super Smash Bros Melee is called "Kirbys on Parade" - the tagline for it is "Look out! A rainbow of kirbys is after you". I was playing SSBM for about 8 hours the day I picked my username, and I play as Kirby...

    3) Kharn likes short shorts. *nod*

    4) anonymous_joe, that hair could do mad things if hit with a rhythm stick. :)

    5) Bloody as hell, but I'd prefer medium-rare.

    6) The Shawshank Redemption

    7) Nocturnal or Athletics/Running/Triathlon, I waste a crazy amount of time on both. I actually lost a popular vote years ago for a new mod for the UCD forum...

Do you like baked goods? If so, I have two such places in Galway

What's your favourite item of clothing?

How many pairs of shoes/runners do you own?

    Platypus or Pteradacytal?

    Hugs or kisses?

    Favourite childhood book?

    1) Right now? Whoever decided that 7pm was an acceptable time for grocery shops to close. 9pm or GTFO.

    2) Right now? Ice cream.

    3) Making someone shoot rainbows from their ass by ripping them in two.

    4) Duckula! :)

    1) I love baked goods. Do tell :)

    2) Already answered - my "Save a tree: Eat animals" t-shirt.

    3) Fewer than the average girl. I've brought new running shoes, old running shoes, black plimsolls, Reebok Classics, Caterpillar boots, low-heeled boots and flip-flops to Galway with me, and there's still about 10 pairs of shoes on the floor of my room in Dublin.

    4) Pterodactyl ftw!

    5) Both are awesome, but kisses tend to have more meaning behind them.

    6) I was a huge Babysitters Club fan when I was younger, so probably them.

    1) Tossup between the utterly incompetent administration and the fact that I felt bloody ancient when in 4th year.

    2) It's probably (so far) the place where I've felt most able to be myself.

    1) Rocket-propelled kangaroo. Just because it'd be fun. :)

    2) Ong-Bak

    3) I'll watch some football, GAA and rugby but I don't follow it in general. I'm contemplating buying a Dublin GAA shirt for some ****stirring down here. :)

    4) Robbie Williams at the Olympia, October 1997. This was the time when kirby learnt not to wear heels to gigs - at 13 years old I learnt this early!

Griffins, near the King's Head. Slightly old-fashioned, some very good stuff, a few sickly sweet things as well. Goyas is on Kirwan's Lane I think, small lane goes down just by Busker's and comes out at McDonagh's Fish Shop. Yep, trés expensive.

Btw, Kirby, NEVER ask a native Galwegian where the King's Head is, 9 shillings gets you a groat that the answer will be "between the Queen's legs!" ;)

And I seem to have missed the fact that you were moving this week, apologies.

    1) Possibly. Seems to be more tourists than anything else here at the moment.

    2) Metroid Prime, it's just pure amazing. :)

    3) Not at all, I've tried to get back into playing stuff but I just haven't been able to. I need to get a new DS though, my old one broke a few months ago and I haven't been able to afford to replace it.

Dislike: Social ineptitude and fat thighs

    3) Either the decision to change courses in college a few years ago, or the decision to move to Galway on my own. I'm ridiculously homesick at the moment, I wibbled a bit when I saw the "Dublin 217km" sign this morning...

    4) Sorta realised when I was 16, but completely denied everything until I was 19-20ish, came out to my friends at 21.

    5) I think it does, guys tend to know (and be certain about it) at a younger age. I think that's down to sexuality being way more of a black and white thing for guys, while women tend to fill in more of the "shades of grey".

    6) Favourite place in Ireland? Phoenix Park on a freezing cold, frosty winter morning. Outside of Ireland? Austrian Tyrol.

    7) UCD, Rock/Metal, Ladies Lounge, Nocturnal, L/G/B, Athletics/Running/Triathlon, Atheism/Agnosticism, PI, AH

    8) Pretty damn good actually! I have lots more energy and sleep better than I used to.

    9) I finished in 2 hours 17 minutes-ish. Here's my race report from my training log. :)

    10) Philadelphia and jam

    11) Haagen-Dazs Pralines and Cream. NYOM.

    12) Sex, chocolate, running, rocking the **** out. Not all at the same time ;)

    3) Japan, Canada, New Zealand

    4) I did French for my LC, got a B1 at higher level, but I've forgotten most of that. I also did 3 semesters of Japanese in UCD.

    1) I used to be a bit of a troll on the WoW forums. Of course I've rickrolled people!

    2) I just get through it, even if it is a pain in the hole sometimes.

    3) I've been crazy homesick since last night, and I was woken up at 4am by my roommates in the hostel last night and didn't get back asleep properly. I think once I find somewhere to live it will get better, but right now it's hard to resist the impulse to jump on the first train to Dublin.

Any mad life plans/goals? (generic question yay!)

What do you enjoy most about sport/martial arts specifically - the physical or mental aspect?

I'm just watching a gross plastic surgery show now so (it's ew! some man with NO fat is getting liposuction) - would you ever get plastic surgery? If yes, and if you're willing to answer - what would you get done?

Hey, I think you mentioned somewhere before that you did maths at college. Do you know any good maths jokes? :)

Do you prefer Maths or Computer Science?

If you were a Pokemon what type would you be?

What famous people would you love to punch in the face?

What famous people (dead or alive) would you love to have at a dinner party?

Do you support any politcal party?

    Cake or Death?

Is there any question(s) that you hope someone is going to ask you? If there are, say so here and I'll ask you! :P

    1) I don't really have much in the way of big life plans/goals, mainly just to be happy and to (hopefully) regret nothing. One of my lesser goals though is to finish a marathon... hopefully on October 26 I'll get that one!

    2) It's both really, I love the feeling of being fit, healthy and strong, I love the mental discipline of martial arts training and the peaceful feeling of a good long run.

    3) Possibly, and it would be a breast reduction. I'd like to go down about 2 cup sizes.

    1) I wish I were a derivative so i could lie tangent to your curves. :)

    2) I enjoy both, in different ways. CS is more practical (in general), but I love the way of thinking that working on tough mathematical problems gets you into.

    3) Some sort of Water/Dragon hybrid

    4) Brandon Flowers' voice makes me want to eviscerate him...

    5) Mike Portnoy and Mikael Akerfeldt, and just talking ****e about music for the entire evening.

    6) I vote Labour, but they don't really go far enough in the tree-hugging hippy direction to suit my personal politics. Irish politics is headwrecking stuff, and it's probably going to get MORE annoying now that I'm in the wesht.

    7) Cake!

    8) Not really, I'm happy to talk about basically anything so if people have anything they ever wanted to know about me this is their opportunity to ask.

Have you used any pairs of Sauconys before? How did you like them?

Do you feel some people graduating college in the last few years have a strong sense of entitlement and think they should be paid generously for merely having letters after their name and f*ck all relevant experience?

Do you think most people in general in Ireland are overpaid to some extent?

Do you remember helping me with the Bayes Theorem thing when I was in first year in UCD!? Whats your favourite drink if you're out?

    1) Nope, I've never worn Sauconys. I'm currently in a pair of Asics Gel-Kayano 15s, but I may need to find a new kind of shoe for the marathon as by the end of the half they just didn't feel stiff enough.

    2) Yeah definitely. People don't seem to get the concept of working their way up, a lot of the time your college degree just proves that you're capable of applying yourself for four years and doesn't teach you the directly relevant job skills - which have to be learnt at work. This is maybe slightly less true in the technical subjects, but is definitely true for humanities.

    3) It depends really. Wages and the cost of things have been artificially high for a long time, and they will probably both fall a bit. Graduates lucky enough to get a job this year are starting much lower than previous years, but still definitely on enough to live on.

    4) Very vaguely.

    5) When I'm drinking, Kopparberg pear or mixed fruit. When I'm being a dry ****e, Coke zero or Club Orange.

Not so much now, but they used to when I was posting a lot on the gaming forums.

    1) Pretty much, though I will admit that gaming sparked my interest there.

    2) Both nerd and geek! :p

    3) I don't play anything, but I'd love to be a good drummer.

    4) Couldn't give a flying fudge, as long as Dublin have a decent year this year.

What video do you reckon you have watched most on YouTube?

What are your favourite albums of all time?

Do you generally prefer wild nights out or quiet nights in?

    Rollercoasters: brilliant or vomit inducing?

    Lisbon Treaty: Yes or No?

If you were dared to give up the internet, how long do you think you'd last without it?

    1) This is REALLY embarrassing, but... World of Paladincraft 2. Fúck WoW.

    2) Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt 2: Scenes From A Memory
Pantera - Vulgar Display Of Power
    Mastodon - Blood Mountain
    Opeth - Blackwater Park
    Apocalyptica - Worlds Collide

would probably be a fairly decent top 5 right now, but this changes all the time.

    3) Quiet nights in, I'm not a big drinker and I prefer to spend quality time with my friends or whoever I'm going out with.

    4) Vomit-inducing. Kirby is not a fan of all things which involve heights.

    5) I voted No the first time as a protest vote - I was pissed off at the lack of clear information about the treaty that was offered, and I cannot in all good conscience vote in favour of something that is as clear as mud. I will probably vote No again because I think it's wrong that FF seem to take the attitude that "they'll keep voting until they vote the right way" on EU-related matters.

    6) Put it this way: I don't have a work PC yet, and being away from a computer from 7.30am to 6pm (roughly) is enough to make me twitch a bit.

    2) Yes... *kicks self*

    3) The universe itself. Astrophysics is awesome. :D

    4) Blur are better musicians and less asshole-ish than Oasis.

    1) Ambivalent, for kirby is a coffee drinker.

    2) I was a huge Jim Carrey fan, I loved Ace Ventura, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber.

    3) Jellyfish (which I had to face during the beach section of the half marathon at the weekend  ), heights and food with weird textures.

    4) Sadly enough for one who is 25 years old, no. *cry*

    5) There are a lot of people I really admire, for many different reasons. The first one I can think of right now is the Hoyts. Father does marathons and triathlons with his son who suffers from cerebral palsy.

    1) Not too bad, just training this week. It'll take a while to really settle into the job.

    2) It's a nice city, I'm just a little overwhelmed by the move. I'm feeling very alone at the moment, and a bit scared to be perfectly honest. It's just weird being down here, I never imagined that I'd be living in a part of Ireland that wasn't Dublin (I'd considered moving to the UK if it was needed for a job long before I'd considered going west!).

    1) Take That - Everything Changes. I was 10. *blush*

    2) Milk. It's been a while since I went to the cinema.

    3) Full civil marriage between any two consenting adults (phrased to cover individuals outside the gender binary as well as same-gender and opposite-gender couples).

    4) Plane ticket back to Dublin. Then I get to go shopping properly :pac:

    5) TMNT :D
