My diet

    Ive started a diet last week,I need some advice, tell me if im doing this right or not.

    Breakfast, porridge yoghurt kiwi peach
    Lunch, Rice cakes tomato egg lettuce tuna
    Dinner, Chicken + potato

    I vary the fruit and meat. I dont eat veg and find it hard to get healthy foods i like.

    I drink lots of water.

    I'm going to walk 4.5 miles monday to friday morning and maybe do a 15/20 mile cycle aswel somewhere during the week/weekend.

    I used to be quite fit but in recent years have gotten lazy, now i want to loose weight. Im 5'8" and 13.4 stone,not good. what weight should i try get down to.

    any tips/advice would be appreciated.

    Welcome to boards.ie :)

    If you haven't already done so, have a read of the stickies in here. They've helped a lot of people to lose a lot of weight. At a guess, your diet looks a bit low in calories to me and more or less devoid of veg (I wouldn't count spuds). I'd advise swapping out the rice cakes and potatoes for vegetables and / or some healthy fats as a start.

    As for what weight to get down to....well....that's your call. :)

    Thanks for that, I should have stressed that i HATE veg, I really really dont like any of them. id eat carrots or onions if they were chopped really small, but thats it! should i take some sort of suppliment too?

    Fundamentally ya gotta eat 5/6 meals a day, build your menu from there-i cant do 6 at home cos i need the sleep but in work its easy!

    What about blended vegetable soup? It's hard to replace veg tbh.
