As the title says i squated for about a year. I was doing bodyweight and a half comfortably.I took 2 weeks off and did 4 sets at bodyweight which i barely managed to do and today i can barely walk.

Can anyone explain why this happens? I'd love a indepth reply if possible.

dont know the whole physiological explanation, but it is DOMS
its normal when you havent done the movement for a while

stretching, and stuff like bodyweight squats and lunges to get blood flowing to your legs will help recovery

    +1 on this.
Even a light run or cycle will help with this then hit a bath with epsom salts if possible. It defo helps!

I wouldn't strech when you have doms. I read that its quite bad.
Repeat the movement regularly throuhout the day to relieve & get back into the gym asap

What were you doing/eating/drinking in the 2 weeks off? Were you off partying in Ibiza?

If yes then you will obviously be weaker as your body is tired and not fueled.

To get over the DOMS you could include a short run or cycle after the squats. This will help flush any crap out of your legs and get fresh blood in asap to aid recovery.
