    Hi guys,

I have honestly crippled myself 'working out' to a davina mccaul dvd. I did the warm ups etc before and thought I was flying, then went on to some cardio boxing etc. Two days later I have severe muscle stomach pains, that lasted a day but now my back is aching Im on pain killers and neurofen gel to ease this but went out driving today and had to come back it was that bad. Can anyone give me any advise firstly, on what I should have done properly in order to avoid this situation again and secondly, is there any quick fix to get rid of this paaiinnnnnnnnnnnnn thanks

If it's concerning you go see a doc we are not allowed to give out medical advice (tbh IMO and this is by no means a diagnosis it sounds like a case of DOMS)

what is DOMs? I did go to the doctor on saturday and he could find nothing wrong gave me tablets for an ulcer in case it was that and some pain killers, but I know myself its muscular as the deep heat is working...

DOMS are sore muscles you get from working out. A hot bath would probably do you good at this point.

After your next workout, eat some protein (meat, eggs, milk, etc.) and some carbohydrates (bread, jaffa cakes, pasta, etc.). Warm down properly. Warm up properly.

Note that stomach pain is NOT the same as abdominal stiffness from exercise - your stomach is 'your insides', not your ab muscles - if there is stomach pain that persists then you should see your doc. Sounds more like stiffness which should fade in a day or so though.
