    Hi

Does anyone have good tips to tone up inner thighs. Im 10 stone, so average female build but my inner thighs are quite fat and they touch and rub off eachother as i walk, which is fine in winter or if im wearing jeans or something, but with the hot weather finally here and a summer holiday coming up in 2 months, i know if i wear a skirt or dress, they will either stick together or rub off eachother so much that it will start to hurt
i have 2 months to do something about it.... any ideas?

    Thanks
    Saucey

I know what you mean have that myself what about those machines that work the inner thigh. I know horse ridding workes that area but it doesn't completely go, and I had the same problem when I was only 8 stone and fit as a fiddle. but ild be very interested if any one knew of some way to help.

if all else try cycling shorts under a skirt if your going to be walking I know not ideal !!

It is impossible to spot reduce fat, to reduce fat in your thighs you will have to lose weight in general.

would exercise those particular muscles help tone the area or it just the way we are made and even when you are slim and toned it will still happen !:)

Yep, you got it. It is just your womanly curves! Exercising the specific muscles will not make any difference to the size I'm afraid as it is the layer of fat on top you need to target and the only way to do this is through cardiovascular exercise and even more importantly a healthy low fat diet.

Two years ago I had a similar problem.

I've noticed this problem again as I've been doing more walking recently. If I walk for a prolonged period (anything over maybe 3-4km) the skin inside both thighs turns black and blue. It is actually painful!

I tried talc on the skin. It didn't do much except turn my clothes white.

Only solution I've found so far is to wear longer boxers!

thanks for all the input guys! yeah its something that i have always had. when i was sick for a while, i lost a lot of weight, and i got to just under eight stone, and it was better in that area but not ideal, so i guess its something i have to live with, eh?

    boo! :p

The type of talc used is the key. Try caldesene medicated talc, changed my life :)

I had this problem a few years back after much heavy squatting, ended up with two bald patches on my inner thighs.

Runners use vaseline or some other kind of stuff I can't remember the name of right now to get rid of this exact problem when training.

As for reducing the size of your thighs, if you don't exercise much normally then doing some training of your thighs will tighten them up a bit. Any fat will take general exercise and dieting to get rid of.

A personal trainer called Charles Poliquin has stated before that having more fat on your thighs than elsewhere can be due to high estrogen levels. He generally recommends that women with this issue think about cutting/reducing wine consumption, increasing broccoli/cauliflower consumption, and eating soybeans. If the fat arrived co-incidentally at the same time as starting to use a contraceptive pill then it might be worth changing that too.

    http://www.monistat.com/soothing-care-powder-gel

This apparently doubles as a make-up primer and my sister ordered it from online to use it under her make-up! It has a really silky texture, almost feels like it's oily but it's dry!! Definitely worth a try if it's painful!

Pilates uses the muscles in the inner thighs (and also your core) to stabilise your body through repititive movements. It doesn't burn fat but it is great for toning up. It migth be worth a try?
