+1 with regard to the knives and folks; I'm left-handed and can still hold them the right way round, why can't other people?!

Bad grammar - I know that sounds pathetic, but it really does annoy me; particularly using americanised spelling (Offence ;))

Overuse of the lock and key in ' some ' threads .

Not so much offensive but a bit silly when there is no need to do so .

    Apostrophe Abuse.

    Book's for sale.

    That's ironic, considering your username.

Not just a dig at the OP, but people that really care about etiquette piss me off. Manners are important, but where it becomes etiquette it becomes utter tripe.

    Ah, I don't think so!

If you're rude about the way you eat in company, I think it shows a lack of both dignity and respect for the people you're around.

Ok - I will admit the it's or its one is very easy to mix up.

    It's = It is.
Its = the possessive of it.

    Inexplicable American accents. They're everywhere.

There are people in my school (my old school, I should say) who have never been to the States, have Irish parents, and yet somehow manage to sound vaguely American. It kills me.

Spin South West, 2FM, Xtravision - all have been put on my sh*tlist for using American accents in their advertising. WHY? It pisses me right off...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

People who call ketchup 'Red Sauce'

It has a ****ing name so use it.

No, I'm all for precise speech and stuff, but I'm talking about an actual American accent here. Phrasing sentences like they're questions springs to mind?

Thats a French thing more so... it could of been a manner of speaking taken in by the yanks... but sure do we not use reverse negatives in our own way also?
