Dublin on top in every area. Wexford resorting to some cynical stuff now and have 3 players on yellows already

    Dublin 0-7 Wexford 0-2

Its on RTE.ie for anyone who's interested

Live stream is absolutely woeful. I fcucking hate rte.

    Its perfect for me.

To be fair I think RTE's online coverage of the GAA is excellent. Last year we wouldnt have gotten to see this game at all. Also the Sunday Game and any games broadcast are available to watch for a week.

The lack of a scoreboard is stupid, especially for a high-scoring game like hurling.

Decent game. Both full back lines look dodgy. Dublin really need to put Wexford away emphatically if they want to have a proper go against Kilkenny.

I think the ref has been a bit harsh with some of those frees and one of those cards. I've seen at least two situations where Dublin players went down very easily. I'm not saying the refs biased or anything, just a bit harsh.

What a boost it would be for Dublin if they win this. Bypassing two very tough qualifying games and into the AI quarter finals at the very least.

He lives near me, reffed a lot of my underage games. To put it politely, I don't rate him. ;)

Not a dirty game at all and yet he has given out about 4 yellows.

although should say that realplayer gave me trouble last year so I only use media player version now. I personally think you need 4 or 5MBit connection to get these streams reliably.

The stream is fine for me, the lack of a score is very annoying.

I find it annoying too but can see the reasoning, this is just a feed of the cameras from the venue, the same one that is recorded for highlights. Putting a score and clock on requires people and graphics systems etc and also ruins the 'clean feed'. Since they are just putting on a 'bonus' game so people can see the game that other years couldn't they didn't pay for this.

I'd imagine if the figures watching justified it maybe it would be paid for in future.

    final score?

no, dublin 3 up now. 10 or so left? hard to say exactly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,693 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Bit more than 10 to go I'd say.

Dublin should get McCrabbe out of there.

Hope history doesn't repeat itself here, think Dublin can do it this time round though.

I've no idea really, the commentator knows this is going out on web only so should be saying the score and how long left much more often.

    8 left he just said.

About time Dublin stepped up to the plate. Very impressive in the last few minutes. Can't see them troubling the cats though.

I hope so too. Dublin will get at least 2 games in a row in Croker now. The big match experience will stand them in good stead for the future.

Great game, as usual Dublin made a meal of a game they should have won easier. Not complaining though:cool::cool:

    Well done Dublin

when is the final scheduled for, do you think they will move it try and a do another double header with the footballers?

Hurling final is the 5th of July.

    It wont be moved.

I'd imagine it will be a lot higher this year with the locals playing, you would think anyhow.

Wikipedia tells me that there hasn't been a Leinster final outside of Croke Park since 1912! Doubt they'd change that now.

Congratulations to Dublin. They've been knocking on the door for a while now and were full value for their win. Looks like Daly instilled some belief and thats all Dublin needed really to make the breakthrough. I fear for them in the final though. I don't think they will be able to physically match KK, but lets face it who can??? In the Quarter finals now so they could yet cause a surprise.

That number 9 (apologies for not knowing his name) was immense for Dublin today and they have some nice forwards to put the ball over the bar. My own county could do with a few of them:pac:

    Dublin for the all-Ireland Pridefighter??:eek::pac:

Well the best they can make IMO is the AI final. If they get the weaker of the qualifiers in the quarters and then get the Munster winners in the semi they can make the final. As I have said before, the rest of Leinster is relatively strong apart from KK, its just the KK thump the rest of Leinster so bad they think it is weak.

Just some ramblings and optimism there by me.:)

    Shocking result for Wexford hurling.

Lost to Offaly in the league final, then to Dublin come Championship crunch time. Drawing Limerick in the qualifiers doesn't make this season any more appealing.

It's most depressing being a Wexford man, (sports-wise of course).

....but not as depressing as going to Croker on July 5th and loosing by a HUGE margin, fair play to Dublin, they've been trying hard over the last number of years, I hope they put up a good showing against KK, I'd say it'll be the 1st time a Dublin team will have the backing of most of the country, ie. as underdogs !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭cruiserweight

Congratulations to Dublin, first Leinster final in 18 years and first win against a "big" team in the hurling championship in a while. Leinster final and an All-Ireland quarter final should help Dublin progress.

Disappointed from a Wexford point of view, but I think we can bounce back in the next round. Playing Limerick at home is a bonus and we will see after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,146 ✭✭✭Morrisseeee

Wexford really need some forewards though, we struggle to put up a 'football' score every time we meet decent oposition.

I've noticed a lot of kids knocking a sliothar around the green in my housing estate in north Dublin recently. Something I've never seen before. Somebody is having an impact on the kids which is good. Lets hope they give a good account of themselves against the masters from Kilkenny.

Fair play to dublin on an excelent win. Very good team you have there and a win like this is long overdue.

On a more sour note though some aspects of the dublin support leave a lot to be desired. Things like booing wexfords freetaker, jeering when wexford had a wide, urging the ref to send wexford players off, soccer style chants while clapping hands over their heads (you know the type of thing, hard to descride, very common at soccer matches)..
These things have no place in the gaa and hopefully its just a passing novelty thats drawing the soccer/scumbag element to these games!

Thats not to take from a great win thoughand best of luck against kilkenny
