I'm probably posting in the wrong forum, but anyone know where I can get a pedometer, I've seen some in Elvery's but they all have the button sticking out and I remember when I had a similar one and I kept resetting it by bumping off the button, so looking for a different type.

why do you want a pedometer might i ask??

i find a my natural sweaty/bollixedometer works fairly well for gauging how much effort i'm putting in!!

    To count steps. :/

I went looking for one recently. My wife wanted one. Had real trouble finding one but the local sports shop ended up having a decent one. Check ebay though, there seemed to be a good few on there. Not sure how accurate the cheapo ones are though.

argos have a Pedometer not sure how good it is though

alternatively, have you got an iPod nano? the Nike+ iPod system works really well (and you don't necessarily need Nike+ shoes)...

i use the Nokia Sportstracker a fair bit on long walks / hikes if you have a compatible phone (and GPS if not built in)...

the last two allow you track your times and distance... i used the Sportstacker a to get my times down on some routes as you can apply the route data over Google maps and see gradients and where you were fastest / slowest

Ah yes, I forgot about the argos ones. They were out of it in a bunch of their shops when I went looking.

Pedometers always confused me - how the fook do they possibly know how many steps you're taking??

[geek]When you move forward, you shift your weight slightly, this causes an electrical circuit to be closed within the pedometer and it just adds 1 to your number of steps[/geek]

They're not 100% accurate by any means.
