    Tuesday 28th July

Super Satellite for the Main Event.

    €25 + €5 "No Limit" Hold'em.

    1 x €25 Rebuy or Top-up.

Starting Stack : 3,000 (plus an early bird chip of 1,000 if you are in your seat for the start of play).

    Rebuy/Top-up : 4,000.

Doors open at 7.45pm for an 8.30pm Start.

So far we have given away 20 tickets into this Satellite so hopefully around 40-45 runners which would mean 5 or 6 tickets for the Main Event.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 808 ✭✭✭S.Emporium

Big_Iain has just confirmed that all three Festival Tournaments will be Irish Ranking Events.

We have now given away 28 tickets for tomorrow night's Satellite. It's an 8.30pm Start, entry is allowed up until the end of the second level (9.10pm). There will be one table satellites and blind omaha available between now and the start of the Main Event. Just speak to a member of staff when you come into the Poker room.

If you would like to reserve yourself a seat for any of the Festival Tournaments you can either send me a pm or phone the Poker room on 01-7030679 between 8pm-6am any day of the week.

I'd hope so too but I'd expect that it will get the usual 30-ish runners for a SE tournament of this nature.

the SE could always be a bit proactive in this and add some money\guarantee 15k or something. A standard 80 FO on Monday nights in the Fitz has been getting ~ 90 runners all month with 1k added - food for thought?

I shall stroll in for the satellite tonight and chance my arm at winning a seat.

Maybe not €15k but putting a €10k guarantee on it is not sticking their neck out too far & should boost numbers.

A couple of tickets given out for this, numbers wise i would like to see it get a good crowd, Alex reckons it should be in around 35-45.

I'll be there too. Good tourney for a bank hol even if a guarantee would help - hopefully it gets the support.

Mick Ste heads up with randomer, Paul H and Nick (vegas nights) still in the monthly deepstack when i was leaving.

Got uber donkeyed out of it, guy was hitting like a mofo knocked out minimum 8 people of the 27 started.

Rory Keogh kindly offered up a weekend for two at The Arlington Hotel Temple Bar as a prize to the €275 game and Alex decided to give it out as the best hand of the night, nice touch i thought.

WP Mick, I was going well in this (well thought I was playing well) I lost half my stack with QQs, I had to lay down on the turn after a dwell, guy said he'd KK but didn't show. After that I made a silly player based call for most of my remaining chips and finally lost another race agianst 22s to exit. (can never win rces agianst 2s for some reason) I'd went out 6th in the scalps the previous night when KK was dogged by A 10 and was convinced I would do well in this, but again another laek in my game surfaces, back to the drawing board.

Thought Mick would take it down WP (no offence to others)

Finished 3rd. Well deserved win for Mick who played well throughout. Though the structure great and the SE put on a good spread.
Would have liked to have seen 40 entries at least but aside from that really enjoyed it.
It was good to see the room reasonably busy with 3 events in play. In my opinion the SE is the best environment for cards but its hard to go against the numbers being generated in the Fitz.
    Cheees Alex,Jeff and all involved.

Think you made a good laydown, any hands he showed later on indicated he did have KK

Cheers everyone. Thanks to the se for a very well run tournament as usual.

Willie as mentioned above that was a good fold against said player. He took the same line numerous times later on.

Really good to see the SE run a couple of decent tournaments back to back. Numbers aside the structure for both the Saturday and monthly Sunday games were great with lots of play. Congrats to Mick for a well deserved win. I ended up 3rd in the 4pm Sunday game and it's one that definitely deserves more players in the future. Hope to see some sort of guarantee for this.

Well done to Alex and the guys for a very enjoyable weekend and giving a two course dinner to the 6 finalists who made day 2 was a nice touch.

    GG

Well done Mick - Well played.

Missed this because I was at the races in Galway.

Played a few games in The Eglington - still prefer the Sporting Emporium but just wish they would update their website with the tournament results as they do in the Eglington -

All very well getting a guarantee :( but they need to decide this well in advance so that they can promote their tournements at least starting three / four weeks in advance and promting comment on Boards every week.:)

Well done mick. I'm the "randomer" you beat into second (I'm a regular for the bigger tourneys but don't play whatever the requisite nights per week are to lose the "randomer" tag).

Mick was head over heels the best player on the final table ... at least on this occasion (no offence to Vera et al) ....

SE deserves support. We were VERY well looked after. It may be horses for courses, but for my money the SE is a quality place with the atmosphere, a good man in Alex, a good team in support, and there's a good spirit among the players ....

At least one big tourney every 2 to 3 months (even for 30, 40 runners) wouldn't go astray - a carefully pitched guarantee would help, as would a bit of networking to stoke up the numbers ...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,071 ✭✭✭Jayminator

WP Mick in taking this down. Also WP to Paul in the side event.

Was playing well in this but went out 9th to a brain fart when I decided to play flops with the Mickste with AQ soooted. Sure he only had da Aces.....

Really enjoyed this tourny and the structure was first class. Well done to Alex and crew for an enjoyable game.
