In a similar vein to the thanks button, a "boo" button would be nice. For those days when you disagree with some nut job but couldnt be arsed writing a post about why you don't care for what they said.

As long as it's disabled in the Phobias forum. Boo!

A thumbs down/boo buttons has been suggested loads of times and rejected. The thing is this is a discussion site. If you agree with someone, the thanks buttons saves you the bother of posting to say so. But if you disagree with someone, you should say why rather than just booing them.

Plus we had a system like this before and it was a disaster by all accounts.

Unless you are in the rants and raves forum in which case, disagreeing or debating a post can get you banned which is really odd for a discussion board ;)

That's a special one sided discussion board. :)

    It's too open to abuse.

There's already issues with people abusing the thanks button as is!

If you couldn't be arsed, then they didn't bother you that much to start with, otherwise you would just tell them exactly what you think. ;)

Ahh, the good old Karma, worked fine until we had groups ganging up on other people and hammering them with bad karma.

Then we had the Rep Points and that was a whole other disaster:)

When was the Thanks feature removed from this forum? There's definitely a few forums that would be better off without any Thanks feature, imo

We'll send each other PM's and pat each other on the back in the Mod forum.
MSN and google chat are also useful for this.

I am entirely against this idea.

As said above, things like this never really work out on boards. I think it's a bad idea, it will be abused.
