    HERE WE GO !
    The website address is http://www.fcarvalho-ciclismo.com/
Check it out and see what you would like to order. Here's the link to their Sizing Chart http://www.fcarvalho-ciclismo.com/f_carvalho_sizing.doc
The prices given are if we order 10 or more of an item. 5-9 pcs cost an additional 20%, 1-4 of an item cost an additional 50%. So I suggest unless we need at least 5 of something it's probably not worth it. Also to max the quantities we should stick to basics if possible - 1/4 zip Short Sleeve and Long Sleeve Jerseys, medium weight Bib Shorts, Training Jackets, Caps, Socks. I don't want to wait too long before ordering - about a week so get your details to me asap. Final price will depend on quantities, will also need to add Vat, Shipping, Paypal, Irish Postage (if needed). Payment will need to be made in advance by Paypal or cheque. As last time, collection in Dublin, or I can possibly arrange to drop off somewhere. I work near Liffey Valley and live in Dundrum. Comments welcome from anyone who previously got gear regarding what you think was good or bad quality/value.

So - PM me your requirements (including SIZE) and we'll get the ball rolling !

Quick question for anyone who already has the gear - what are the shorts like comfort-wise?

Another question re size, I've heard quite a few gripes about sizing being off, mainly for jerseys/jackets. Anyone with experience care to comment?

XL jersey is looser and significantly longer than any other jersey I have.

    I'm a 39-40" chest. Would a large jersey fit okay, I wonder...?

    Which makes it SWEET!! :)

I'm tall so the length is perfect for me.
I've ordered a good few jerseys recently from PBK etc, all of which have gone back.
I started with XL, then XXL, now I'm on to XXXL, thats all for the length....I'm not a fat bast*rd :)

So if you're tall (i.e 6"4 up then I'd say XL)

Would have a substantial preference for full-length zip jersey over 1/4 but if 1/4 is what we're getting, I can live with that.

I'm in for a gilet if anyone else is. Will PM with size once I work it out.

I'd advise a full length zip jersey also. Makes it much easier to "do what ya gotta do" when wearing bibs cos ya dont need to pull off a jersey with pockets full of stuff. Also gives more scope to avoid over heating.

I'm in for a SS jersey, and would prefer full length zip.
But.....I'll go with the majority if necessary !

    PM coming your way.

I'd also favour a full length zip. Handy for undoing on long sweaty climbs to show off your crucifix and tattoos.

No problem, I see I'm outnumbered ! I was going on the last order which seemed to end up with far more short zip than full zip. PM me whatever you want and we'll see how the numbers are stacking up in a few days.

    Nice one LastGasp.

Might want to edit the thread title to give a closing date for ordering to get more attention.

I shouldn't ask here but, eh, anyone know what's happening with the outstanding items from the previous order?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 421 ✭✭SetOverSet

In for ss full zip. May also go for bib shorts and gillet. Will mull it over for a while...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 638 ✭✭✭LastGasp

Good Thinking Donal, Done. I've put Mon 22nd. No point leaving it too long. That way hopefully most payments can be made, and order placed before end next week.
I deny all responsibility for the last order !

I have a gilet..... there's two styles. The drystorm one which is a lighter one or the sleeveless boards jacket which is classified as there standard gilet.

I'll only go on basis of PMs, to help keep track of things, so send me a PM me when you've decided - you've got 'til Monday !

The drystorm is what I'd be looking for

Maybe we should give Socks, Arm Warmers and Leg Warmers a miss on this order !

Sounds ok, I can do without socks. Besides give people too much choice and nothing gets ordered :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,333 ✭✭✭72hundred

Can we throw this up on a google spreadsheet?

EDIT: Maybe a read-only type so we can see what everyone's ordering and get the best discounts.

Good timing as I just got my first bike today. Now to decide what I want!

    Is anybody getting stuff personalised?

I presume where it states on the price list you can get your name or alias added?

If this is going to overly complicate matters on the ordering front, then please disregard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 309 ✭✭albob

WHen people say the sizes are a bit off, is it that in general they were larger or smaller than expected? Or was it just that they were longer?

How does one go about doing this??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 638 ✭✭✭LastGasp

Shouldn't be a problem, It's listed as a 4.50 extra charge, presumably per item. Probably subject to the same surcharges dependant on quantities. Just include on your PM that you want your name on kit, and make sure you type it exactly as you want it - Capitals/Lower Case/Spaces/Spelling etc.

    CAPS

Guys..... here's a friendly WARNING don't buy the caps. Its nice and looks fine but the peak isn't hard so in any sort of wind it just folds into your face. Unless you always wear you cap backwards then you'll likely be dissapointed.

Or under a helmet. It's not to be worn on it's own, but with a helmet over it it's ok.

Not my favourite cap by a long chalk though

I always wear it under the helmet thats when I get the problem of the folding into face... Perhaps I have to short narrow pencil head or short inverted brow whatever it is my boards cap is useless unless watching eurosport in fill atire.

Apologies if this has been already asked...but what is the ladies kit like?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,038 ✭✭✭penexpers

I don't think any ladies kit has ever been ordered. I think it's just the same as the mens kit with the shaping a bit different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 241 ✭✭lyders

I see a ladies large on the spreadsheet...just wondering what the sizes are like...i'm pretty small, usually a ladies size 8. Has anyone ordered ladies jerseys before?

Hi all, latest version of order. Long Sleeves, Jackets and Gilets looking expensive as quantities still low.

Did you have a look at the sizing chart link on 1st page ? They say Ladies are the same measurement in Chest and Hip, but shorter arms and body.

    hi!
I wear the men's kit. I am 5 foot and I wear a small jersey. Depending on how tall you are I think if you take a 8, then a XS would be grand for you in men. The female design are supposed to be shorter than the men, but I think both myself and LDB wear men's.

I have a XS long sleeve that is perfect size for me and a XS short sleeve that's slightly small. I usually wear a sz 10 and 8 when i am really in shape ( not at the moment... meh)

    ... I hope this helps.

If that's Lyders who came on the Dublin Social Cycling on Tuesday, then I'd agree you're an XS in men.

What's the estimated delivery time on these, I'm losing weight pretty fast now I have been given the all clear by the Chiropractor to exercise again, so I may optimistically order the next size down :D

    Yup..that's me!

I've ordered the ladies small, guess i can see how that goes. Kind of tempted to try the xs but afraid it would be too tight.

I'd say you're looking at 4-6 weeks by the time we get payment over to them and they get the order produced. I was also wondering if they might close for a couple of weeks holidays, I'll try and find out next week.
