It is indeed quite a distance. Mine is 18km each way and that's already way more time than I'd like to spend getting to and from work.

8, 10 or 13km depending on route. Each way.

    1.1 km

    15km each way.

I tried doing it only one way, but my office filled up with bikes.

edit: I only do it 2 or 3 times a week, as I tend to go a bit nuts on the home leg.

32km from balbriggan to drumcondra might be a bit ambitious so. did 42 km last night in 1hr 40, including some hills out by the naul, so would take circa 1hr 30mins if was to do it nice and steady

4k each way but I am carrying two kids.

Would make you a good candidate for a folder though: train to Connolly then a 10-15 minute jaunt up to the 'Condra.

9.5 - 11km, depending on whether i take the direct or scenic route

    20km each way.

12 km each way if I go direct - if I don't it can be anything up to 50km each way!!!

I tend to go a bit nuts in the morning - bright mornings, clear skies and quiet roads make for nice spins.

At the moment I drive to Swords, unload the bike and set off from there. Either I head towards the coast and maybe up Howth Head before heading towards town or I head inland - the back roads around there great. Occasionally I'll hit the Park for a few laps.

I've considered doing the full monty in and out to work from the house. That would be a round trip of 100km but to be honest I did it one weekend and the roads were not very inspiring.

    About 17km's each way (total)

Way out is a slow climb from Tolka Valley to just inside, literally, the M50.

The way home is good old descent into the valley and a little climb out of it.

Takes about 25 mins with loaded Panniers one way.

12k each way. I wouldn't fancy 30k, although if you're training specifically for cycling and have a decent bike on half decent roads I'm sure it would be different

About 5km each way although I tend to get lost and find myself around Howth on the way home some days.

    15km direct, 30km with Howth

But 32km each way is perfectly doable. The distance is nothing once your used to it. I mean cycling in one day, leave your bike at work, and cycle home the next if you can't handle there and back the same day. When you can cycle in and out the same day do 2 days per week etc etc...

Although if its excuses you need then we can help you make them up.

    About 35km each way.

It grand though. Main road followed by backroads meaning no traffic and continual driving.

And i enjoy it listening to the radio each time.

The fact that you're driving, not cycling

28k Skerries to IFSC, I only do it twice a week though. Takes and hour and 15mins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,604 ✭✭✭petethedrummer

20 kms each way. Wouldn't mind a longer one if there were fewer stoppages and I could get up in the mornings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,333 ✭✭✭72hundred

10-12k each way depending on where I've to go that day.

Cycling in city is more interesting but a helluva lot slower and worse road conditions, so if bored with plenty of time I'll go thru city and if in a rush just follow the canals, with better cycle lanes.

5.5km each way. Though yesterday's commute home was around 75km :)

24kms each way ... do it everyday ... and I am not fit by any stretch of imagination ... just used to it now. Hated it today when I had to bring the car in. Nothing to do with rain .. just have to go somewhere today evening where lycra is not acceptable.

Have convinced myself that I need a carbon bike for doing 48kms every day and I'm in process of convincing the Home/Finance minister of the same. Then I need ..
    1. Zipp 404
    2. Garmin 705
    3. Powertap
    ...
    ..

8km each way. Usually do a longer route 1-2 times a week, the longer only being 12km though :D

23k each way, 2 or 3 times a week. Takes about 45 mins (can do it in about 40 with a tailwind, but takes nearly 50 with a strong headwind)

20km each way, every day... part of my training schedule...

My commute to college is around 6.5km each way, Parkgate Street to DCU -- I do it somewhere between 24-30mins (depending on if I'm in a rush or not, traffic lights etc).

Commute for the summer is a few meters, so I miss having to cycle. Old commutes include about 2km in Ballina, and 4.5 from Parkgate Street to the Docklands and I used to do that in just over 10mins or so.

11k each way, takes about half an hour in City Centre traffic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,618 ✭✭✭Civilian_Target

26km each way, with a little over 200m of ascent on the way to. But I only do it 2-3 days a week.

Takes 55 to 75mins, on a hybrid with pannier.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,831 ✭✭✭ROK ON

12km. Takes 20 mins in the morning, but about 35mins in the evening - just down to ther traffic on the road.

On a bus it is a minimum of 35mins excluding the walk to busstop and wait for bus.

Short Circuit, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you opt for the W100 route? If you're doing 50k a day, or 250k a week, you'd have danced through the 200.
