Back Training...

O.K. so I haven't been in training for about a year. Leaving Cert took up most of my time and I was just playing rugby matches having gotten pretty fit over last summer. But I got injured during the season (torn meniscus I think.) Anyway, heading back to the gym soon. My primary concern is getting back fit while doing a bit of weights at the same time. Last year I used to run at a fairly high speed for a minute and then jog for two and repeat this for about half an hour. This was done with some assisted chin ups and sit ups. Should I pick up where I left off or is there a better way? Any advice appreciated. Training is focused on getting ready to be back playing once my injury is gone.
