Maths (O): Went great, considering that I've never seen an OL maths paper in my life. hoping for at least a B.
Irish (O): The exam was hilarious. If I don't get a B there will be prolems.
English (H): Went well, the lack of Longley brought me down though. I'm thinking a B
History (H): It went well I think, kind of hard to tell with history but I was happy.
Biology (H): It went alright, never been really strong at bio but I think I may have scraped a C
French (H): Good paper, very happy with it.

I still have chemistry to do :( , which I am definitely going to fail.

In fairness now it's your own fault for feeling bad about repeating since you probably didn't do enough work over the past 2 years where as all these guys have and did good exams as a result of that work.

Let them enjoy the fruits of their labours, they've earned it

Not to sound mean, but 'tis nobody's fault but your own.

I'm by no means bragging, everyone has the right to be ecstatic when they finish, considering the awful year we just had.

And those aren't my grades, that's what I hope to get. Could do much worse.

Good Luck to anyone else still doing their exams, and congrats to those who finished.

Spanish -Im horrible at the moment but I hope to cram and get a c3
religion - the same as spanish

I agree completely with a previous poster. You guys deserve to do well. You have probably put in a lot of work, fair play!

Maths (F): Passed! I know I passed, that's all that matters. That's all I care about. I hate that subject with a passion and now I never have to do it again! :)

English (H): I think I wrote a good composition... Basically about a cocaine-addicted alcoholic. I hope I got some kind of B. Thrilled Bishop came up.

Irish (O): Hoping for at least 30 points in this... Wrote a lot. Dunno how much was relevant though.

History (H): Painful in areas, like Irish history. Praying to Buddha for a B3

Business (H): B3 would be nice, but C1 is okay. I wrote a hell of a lot... almost ran out of time. gotta count for something

Biology (H): not as well as I expected... hopefully got a B3

German next... Not too bothered. Again hoping for another B3 in that!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,089 ✭✭✭jefreywithonef

English: Paper 1 could have gone better but I did fairly well in PII. B.
Irish: Fecked up in stair na Gaeilge and certain parts of the aural. A2 / B
Business: Bah, should have studied a lot more. C.
History: As above, nothing that I had really studied in depth came up. B / C.
Art: How I've loathed this subject for the past two years. C.
Maths (O): Went by easy enough. B.
    French (O): Not sure. A/B/C.

Overall, didn't do quite as well as I had hoped.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭manutd4life

i'd rather not predict what grade i'd get

irish (h): paper1 was alrite but paper2 was horrible.i didnt really study for paper2 because i had business on the same day
maths (o):that was grand.paper1 ws easy.some tricky questions on paper2 though
english(h):not bad.at least bishop came up
business(h):after failing in the mocks i wanted to do well and i feel that i will get a good grade
geography(h):some questions were tricky butoverall a good exam hopefully
history(h):not so good but not so bad either.the context question i only wrote half a page and i only wrote 2 pages for each of my essays but you never know

    finished tomorrow with german

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 8,490 Mod ✭✭✭✭Fluorescence

Irish (H) - I've really no idea how this went. The oral was pretty good, as was paper I. However my aural was disastrous and I left out all of prose by accident in paper II.... I'd be lucky with a B really...

English (H) - I was hoping very much so for an A but I probably didn't get it. I didn't get half of the unseen poem finished, and I'm not convinced as to the quality of my Keats and Comparative essay. Still, I don't think I got below a B2/B1. If I do worse I'll be extremely disappointed.

French (H) - A fantastic written and aural paper! I was thrilled with how yesterday went. My oral exam was a nightmare however, with my examiner throwing me off with really random questions, and my lack of a subjunctive. Hopefully a B of some description

Maths (o) - I dropped at the last minute to OL out of fear so I found the maths exam pretty easy. I learned simpsons rule over the weekend and chose vectors as my option for paper 2 so all went well (and having seen the HL paper afterwards I'm convinced I made a good choice!). I'd imagine I got a fairly high grade in this

So just chemistry, accounting and music left (all HL). I hate the way my exams are so spread out, they're really dragging! I envy everyone who's already finished *sigh*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 169 ✭✭GVNDNN

English (H): Went okay, kinda ****ed up my poetry question but hopefully a B3

Irish (O): Hopefully a B, was grand but my oral wasn't the best

French (O): Change to Ordinary on the day after a severe panic attack haha but hopefully it was okay

    Maths (O): Okay....

Geography (H): Was aiming for an A2, But hopefully i got a B

    Biology (H): F HAHAH Ah no i don't know, wasn't my finest hour :(

Economics (H): Haven't done it but going to work my ass off till Wednesday

    Irish(O)Not too bad C, paper 2 ****.

    English (h)great!!!! A

    Maths(o)Pretty Good B/C

    History(h)Just scraped a pass :( own fault didn't study

Art(H)Amazing,I am off to NCAD after alll

    Biology(h)Didn't answer anything

    Geography(h)B or C

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 660 ✭✭✭Claypigeon

History (H) - Really didn't look forward to this one, dreaded it! But turned out "ok" and I want a C in it so I'd say I'm fine as grades go!

    Biology (H)
    - Wasn't in great form after History but it went alright, again want a C so pewpew

German (H) - This is tomorrow, looking forward to it as it may go very well but a little part of me suggests it might go badly if the topics on the compositions are dodgy

    Geography (H)
    - Felt this went really well. I'd say I got a B or an A in this, here's hoping :) Actually enjoyed doing this one.

    English (H)
    - Went pretty well and I felt I did well in Paper 2 which is my worse paper of the two, hoping for a B or an A here, too.

    Irish (O)
    - Was a total joke tbh :P So glad I dropped down, the reward for slogging in Honours isn't worth it when I'm not after 500+ points.

    Maths (O)
    - I suck at Maths, it's my worst subject. However I put in a decent bit of work prior to exams and studied my formulae and hopefully got a D which is all I want, although I only want it for my own sense of achievement since I don't need to have passed it come August!

Overall been a tiring but pretty exciting fortnight; so glad I'm finished tomorrow though, going for dinner then out for the night <:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 782 ✭✭✭tootyflutty

English(H) - went quite well I think. Hoping for a high C/B3 but ran out of time a bit towards the end of my poetry question.

Maths(O) - happy how it went, and I passed in the mocks, so to be honest not really bothered. Just gotta pass it anyway. But reckon it will be a C2/1

Irish(H) - hoping for a C of any kind, preferably a high one, and I was delighted with my oral so hopefully all goes to plan :P

Biology(H) - Went ok I think. Some odd questions I want a C in this, hopefully C1 at least

Art History(H) - Soo upset about this paper. Our tool of a teacher didn't even cover a quarter of the topics so our whole class is furious. I want a B but I'm guessing will be a C1ish after that paper.

German(H) - Ah not a bad paper, and my oral went great! Listening started east got a bit harder but happy all the same! :D

still have music to do :pac:

    Basically going pretty horribly.
C's mainly by the looks of it...even though I am capable of better I just didn't study...
    One left, Spanish.
Bio or Business will probably be my best by the looks of it.

    DCG; Looking forward to it!
Physics; Should be alright indeed; god damm hate writing experiments up though!
Applied Maths; Loads of study time, hopefully will go well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 271 ✭✭Gi joe!

So far not too bad, but honestly I hoped to destroy some tests which I didn't!

English-overall okay but with it being a lottery who knows-hoping A2/B1

Geog-:mad:Curse the examiner who set that! Was looking A1 with the amount of work I did but alas exam went against me-prob mid to high B

Maths(O)-Paper 2 DEAR GOD! it cost me Commerce at least, stupid B3 or better requirement!

History-pretty good! Maybe A if examiner is kind

    Irish(O)-insult to your intelligence

Of course, have to expect the worst come August so I don't get any nasty surprises!:)

Anyone so far felt they surpassed or regressed in expected points so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,361 ✭✭✭bythewoods

TBH, I'm probably going to come out with lower points than I did last year.
    FML.

As long as I get an A in Irish (H) I'll be somewhat happy.
Messed up Maths, totally. Wanted an A, won't be getting one. Not a chance. B of some description I'd say...

    English (H):Alright
    Maths (H):Alright
    Irish (O):Bad

Ah, I dunno. I thought this last year too tbh- that I'd done rather ****- and yet managed to actually get up in the mid-500s.

Its gone great to be honest. I've had a crazy run of luck though, the first english paper didnt have my question but the second did, the one proof I studied in HL Maths came up (and no others) and I could answer one of the history essays simply because by coincidence I had been reading a book on that very subject. Madness.
